Well people have been arguing that because the All-Star Mode has been shown with a "locked" icon on it, then all the characters cannot possibly be unlocked in the ESRB video.

I really like that theory, but there is a small issue with it; we don't know if all the video footage was taken in one sitting. For all we know it's a highlights reel made up of clips in the game at various states in its playcycle. So while it's a plausible theory, it's not one hundred percent certain.

Plus if I'm not mistaken, don't you traditionally have to beat Classic Mode with each character to unlock All-Star Mode? Not just unlock them all? I could just be remembering wrong.

Although let's be fair; Nintendo was probably expecting something like this to happen with the ESRB footage just due to it no longer being in their own secure hands. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they held something back.

And turns out the amount of characters left could give the roster two more rows?

I looked at the roster and how much space is left. The most that can fit on it is four more slots. Which fits the rumor of Dixie, Ridley, Chorus Kids, and Mewtwo.

If we are getting anymore, it might be them.

The CSS is nine across and six down.

There are eight in the second-to-last row
There are five in the last row

That means one space in the second-to-last row
And four spaces in the last row

There are five spots to be filled.

I note that five slots better fits the rumor of Mewtwo, Ridley, Dixie, Impa, and Mach Rider.

But I would say those five slots are going to be pretty nebulous for the next month.
No because you're forgetting Mii Fighter. Wouldn't that take up a slot?
Mii Fighter has their own menu, set apart from the other characters. I don't know if it will work that way for the Wii U version.
The icons could always get smaller as more characters are added too. I mean, if DLC characters may exist, it would kind of have to.

This happened in Brawl, I'm pretty sure.
It definitely did.
All that image on the previous page made me want is Sukapon to be a wanted character again. Seriously the guy deserves it like Game & Watch, Ice Climbers, and Rob.

It also makes me miss something else...

So how bout that community project guys--
damn, i was waiting for an image to load ;__;
Well, that should say something about that big leak we had just the other day then.

What big leak? The roster? If so then a metal sonic alt skin and ridley don't have any connection to that.
There was never a word about a Metal Sonic alt costume, but Ridley was apparently one of the 4 remaining newcomers left along with Dixie, Mewtwo, and Chorus Men.
The metal sonic one appeared shortly after the leak originally surfaced. It's just so embarrassingly bad and goes to show you that it is NOT that easy to make a credible looking render on the fly.
