How could the other F-Zero characters be turned into unique assist trophies? We have a lot of "Fight Beside Me" type of ATs as it is, do we really need more? I suppose one of them could drive their car across the stage and basically act like a vehicle from the F-Zero stages, but that's the only other thing I can come up with.

I'm just curious how you think a unique AT could be made from an F-Zero character.
I thought of an item for F-Zero once, but basically it serves a similar purpose to the Hocate ship, so it would be redundant. Basically a remote-controlled Black Bull, which would kind of drive around at an erratic pace before colliding with and blowing up on an enemy.

The idea is supposed to reference that Black Bull intentionally tries to cause accidents on the racetrack.
F-Zero item idea:
Name: Boost Fire
Appearance: S-shaped Badge (Boost Power from SNES F-Zero)
Effect: Increases speed. When starting a dash, the player is covered in fire and makes spins 3 times. (Wait, this kind of sounds like Blaze the Cat's Spin Dash). Mr. Zero from F-Zero X will announce "You got Boost Power!" when the item is picked up for the first time.
Making Captain Falcon playable was a chore enough and I'm sure Samurai Goroh is only there because he has "Samurai" in his name. A lot of people use this "with some creativity" argument, but it's not about that, it's more about if it's even worth it going through the trouble. Hocotate Ship item isn't that surprising either, it's basically Olimar's final smash in item form. In fact I thought Olimar would lose "end of the day" as his FS, but he didn't.
The Skull has black magic. So there's a number of things you make him do.

Pico is an expert assasine. He's good with the sniper rifle.
I guess that's pretty possible (although I'd really doubt anyone would use a sniper rifle since Snake couldn't in Brawl), but still it would be kinda weird when you think that F-Zero is supposed to be a racing game, lol. I'd also say they're pretty obscure, but Earthbound had a Jeff assist so I guess I can see your point, they could work if given the chance.

(Although I'd still have Black Bull fitting Ganondorf's role in Smash)
Most of the interesting F-Zero characters have had trophies in Smash before, and usually they give insight on some of the stuff they do outside of racing.

I wouldn't mind seeing Mr EAD (or whatever he was called). He'd be a good choice for a big, burly kind of Assist, something that is somewhat lacking in Smash. Plus he's a walking Mario reference too.

Possible inspiration for the new screen KOs? I haven't quite expressed just how much I love that change yet. Almost as funny as SSB64's.
So I'm letting my friend borrow the Super Mario 3D World for Wii U, and he's letting us borrow Brawl.
Unlocked Ganondorf tonight finally, proceeded to win 5 matches in a row with my favorite motherfucker.
But Kirby, whenever anybody's him, I just get frustrated. His combo punch thing is the most annoying thing ever and the fact that he can drop like a rock whenever even when I send him flying on a hit that should be a KO just really annoys me. Oh well, I did pretty well tonight with Ganondorf, love that dude.
Just DI out of Kirby's combo or outrange it. I think Ganon's D-Tilt and Fair out range it in Brawl. Shield grabbing would work well too. I feel like Ganon's jab would out range it too. Depending on the dude's skill level, you could just spam Dair all day. I remember there being some deal similar to L Canceling for Ganon's dair that cut down the lag by a lot, but I could be wrong/it be bullshit. It's been years since I tried to main Brawl Ganon. They fucked him over hard in Brawl

If Kirby's survivability with his Down B is getting you miffed, you'd hate playing against anyone who's halfway competitive. In Brawl, there's a fuck ton of moves that allows you to cancel hit stun halfway through it. It's a pain in the ass for someone to cancel all of the momentum you just smacked into them with their nair. You thought that FSmash should have killed them? lolnope
«Here's the trophy gallery for the 3DS version. You can rotate the trophies by drawing circles on the bottom screen. Super Smash Bros. Brawl had tons of trophies, but rumor has it that the 3DS version alone may have more than Brawl. Looks like the Dr. Wily that we made from scratch for the 3DS version is on his knees in disbelief.»

Now THAT'S what I wanna see!
I was shocked at first when I saw today's update because I thought it was suggesting you buy trophies with real money, but it looks like you actually have an option of using either the game's internal currency or the 3DS Play Coins.

I wonder how the game decides what goes on sale. Is it chosen at complete random within the game, or is it decided by something on the internet, meaning everyone gets the same trophies on sale at the same time?

Either way I don't see myself using this feature. Winning trophies is way more satisfying than just straight up purchasing them. I'd rather bring back a lottery feature than purchase it in a shop, or play mini-games for them like you could in Brawl.

I bet this guy marks down the prices.
The trophy buying seems to be based on the shop in Kid Icarus Uprising. I believe that had sales as well.
