I wouldn't be angry but it would literally be a waste of a slot. Unlike the initial roster, which was not limited, DLC characters are most certainly limited. As Sakurai said, he can't keep the Smash Bros team together forever.

I don't think Pichu would take a "slot" from anybody... it's literally just Pikachu with self-infliction. I'm pretty sure it would take 1/8 the typical development time of a DLC character, and if it does come back, it's strictly to fill some kind of gap in production time or to see if they can squeeze out one last bit of content before breaking up.

Pichu would most likely get the Roy treatment though. Pretty much de-cloned. (whether or not he'd be any good is another story though that doesn't matter).

Well, that's another matter, and I'm with you on it. I was honestly hoping Pichu would piggy-back with Mewtwo way back when that was a thing, but alas, not the case.

Actually I was hoping any clone DLC they made would piggy-back with an original character. Looks like they're determined to seriously milk this whole DLC thing, unfortunately.

Has anyone considered the possibility that maybe the reason K. Rool was delegated to a costume could be because we're getting Dixie Kong as a character instead?

I mean, Dixie is a character we know for a fact has been considered for Smash in the past; it seems incredibly feasible that she could have been a character they were already planning on creating before the poll was even posted. K. Rool may have been considered after a lot of fan requests, but perhaps they didn't want to spend what little timeframe they have to work on DLC characters on TWO DK characters, so they had to drop one of them. And since it's more likely that Dixie already had some planning put into her wheras K. Rool would be coming from scratch, the latter makes the most sense to costumize. Makes sense to me.

Dixie? Pfft, fuck that. There's no way she wouldn't just be a clone or a partial clone of Diddy. I'm not going to lie, I probably would actually be legitimately angry if Sakurai chose between the two and chose Dixie.

I don't know why people always suggest that Dixie should/would be a Diddy Kong clone when their movepools have always been pretty different.

Because Sakurai doesn't really give teo shits about Donkey Kong. He'll see that they're essentially the same anatomically and will most likely change the up special. All of the tilts and smashes would make sense for a chimp, as would the forward and down B's.

K.K. Slider's costume comes for free with the update.
