My brother and I both bought the 3ds version, but we only have one copy for the Wii U. Only one of us could register the codes...
I'll get to try Mewtwo on the Wii U, but I can't on the 3ds yet.

I didn't have the mail (I still don't), but my codes were on my Club Nintendo account, so yay, Mewtwo!

bad news: we probably won't be getting those smash ballot characters for a while now
good news: iceman will probably mash his keyboard in this thread's reply field over the placeholder files found for characters
(one of them doesn't even make sense. spoilers, it's a third-party character, but it's not Banjo. Or Rayman. Or Snake.

I DEMAND that Ryu's alternates change his model to alternate shoto characters. Ken, Akuma, Gouken, Dan, Sakura, Evil Ryu and Oni. Sure, the body styles and fighting styles differ for most of those characters, but I'm willing to forgive it if the models match closer to his body size (which is only problematic for Gouken and Oni)

Or give him a down B move like the move he had in the original Marvel vs Capcom, where his moveset changed to Ken and Akuma's, basically making his Shoryuken's fire based and giving him air Hadokens, as a quick example.

EDIT: oh, and DLC characters won't have customs? Gotta say, that's mildly disappointing.

Mewtwo's CSS placement on the Wii U version wouldn't bother me being at the end if it didn't completely screw up the rest of them.
Hopefully future characters will make everything work out.

hear me out though, doesn't it seem like putting a character from an actual Fighting Game franchise in a party style mascot beat em up a little.. strange?

I mean the charm of Smash for me at least has always been that the characters in it aren't traditionally from fighting games, hell most of them don't even fit in a fighting game at first glance

This is like having Venus and Serena Williams as DLC characters for Mario Tennis, a little on the nose, doncha think?

nope, he is an easy  choice, not a good one. There are plenty of other mascots that fit the "fish out of water" placement style the game has had for 4 titles.

TLDR: Ryu is a crap choice for DLC, imo

I'm downloading the Wii U version's update data onto my computer to get Mewtwo's model and sounds, so I can verify if that's true or not.
