The Dr. Mario stage was found in the files a long time ago, so it's most likely legit but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.

also lol the king k rool costume actually looks like the mii skinned him and cut off his upper jaw and wears it as a hat
Also, just noticed the inclusion of Mario Super Picross music in that Dr. Mario screenshot.

If they throw in some Wario's Woods music in there, I'll be even more happy.
Here's a quote from one of the head staff from the DKVine that sums up how I feel.

Quote:I really don't know what to think anymore.

On the one hand, I totally see this as being a slapped-together compromise for the fans, because Sakurai has no true intention of putting K. Rool in the game. It's what I feared: He's going to go through the fan ballots until he lands on a character he's actually fond of, dismissing any characters voted ahead of that one through some circular logic and giving us these scraps instead. This is what haunts me the most.

Hell, it happened with Ridley. He knew the fan demand and even said that he could just shrink him down. But that wasn't what HE wanted. He has this vision of how characters are supposed to look and sound in that game for some reason. It can't go against his vision and that's why he couldn't make Ridley a fighter, and maybe K. Rool too!
But K. Rool doesn't have size problems. He's pretty much the same situation as Bowser. I really doubt that is true.
Why do we have to be so negative and jump to these conclusions? The fact we got this doesn't change the fact K. Rool is still a maybe. We get his costume, but the maybe didn't change. That's just an assumption, a guess. Remember when we first thought Meta Knight was deconfirmed because of a Mii Fighter? Good times.
They should have also included a Kaptain K. Rool costume as a Gunner.

I didn't say it was a size issue. I'm talking about how Sakurai won't allow a character to be playable if it doesn't match Sakurai's uncomprimisable vision.

For example, if Namco wanted to use the new Pac-Man design, Sakurai would have rejected Pac-Man all together. This kind of stubborn attitude is probably what is ruining a lot of character's chances for various different reasons.

Perhaps in Sakurai's grand vision K. Rool is not meant to be a fighter for (insert stupid reason here). So a costume will do... Or something.
We got the better Pac-Man design and an awesome Mega Man one thanks to him though.
Just want to chime in here a second, Koopaul... You are very insistent that so much of what Sakurai does is detrimental to the Smash Bros series.

Without Sakurai there probably would BE no series.

In those cases it worked out.

But would you agree that it wouldn't be worth having Pac-Man if he had his modern design? Would you be like, "Oh man he shouldn't be in the game looking like THIS!"

No of course not. You'd be happy he's in the game at all! I wouldn't gamble a characters inclusion for such reasons.

What if Namco really wanted Pac-Man to have his new design and then Sakurai decided to not put him in? Would you have liked that?

You can say the same thing about George Lucas and Star Wars. Didn't change the fact that he WAS detrimental to Star Wars years later.

I'd even argue that Miyamoto is detrimental to modern Mario. Holding him back, even regressing him in some cases.

Point is sometimes a series can outgrow a creator.
I agree Ridley is too big but... Isn't Olimar like 10 times bigger in smash than in Pikmin?

Ehh... Brawl didn't have Pac-Man, because Sakurai didn't believe in fighting pizza slices. We have him now though and yes, I would've taken Ghostly Adventures Pac-Man if that's what we got. But we got the better Pac-Man. If we didn't get Pac-Man at all, it wouldn't be much different from Brawl. People will request the shit out of him, but it's not like the game's dead without him.
But that's all moot, because we have the better Pac-Man, we have Mega Man and the whole "it could've been worse" thing is pointless, because it's not. Sakurai's bad decision making worked out for the better. Well, fuck him.
I honestly don't even think Sakurai is all that involved with Mii costumes... I feel like half the point of the Mii Costumes is, Sakurai created this framework and anybody with a little bit of modeling knowledge can shit out a Mii Costume for Nintendo to score some quick cash whenever they need it.
I'm so glad Sakurai is the way he is solely because of Pacman. Pacman's probably my favorite character in Smash 4 and that certainly would not have been the case if he used his modern design.
