Whoops! Sorry if I implied I didn't WANT Bayonetta - my salt was more given the fact that what...I'm pretty much surrounded by everyone voting for literally everyone besides Bayonetta, and once she's announced, she just seemed like an extremely underwhelming pick that doesn't even feel like a Smash Bros character. Like she's...literally the most boring character design around, too.
I'm fine with both characters making it in, actually...I just wished they'd have announced Wolf, too )':

Like everybody wanted Banjo, or K. Rool and people pushed REALLY hard for these characters, and for...what? For Sakurai to tell us "oh, this is only among realizable characters, and I decided it within the first week of the Ballot".
Honestly, I really wish they'd release the results of the Smash Ballot, because I'm pretty sure the world is curious as to who the runner-ups were.

Cloud was honestly a GREAT addition to the series, and it really drove home just how influential Smash has become within the gaming community, too.

If there was a DLC character I'd like to trade for Wolf, it's Lucas. A Brawl character for a Brawl character. Lucas only appeared in Mother 3, a game that's still Japan exclusive, while Wolf appeared in 3 games so far and is about to make his fourth appearance.
But things are just the way they are and I for one have to accept the fact Wolf isn't coming bad, as sad as it makes me. I have to remind myself that freakin' Mega Man is in the game!

What really kills me is that like

Ness has a full psuedo-Lucas custom moveset. People made Ness custom movesets so the blow that Lucas wasn't coming back at the time didn't hit so hard.
Fox had a psuedo-Wolf custom moveset. But...guess who didn't make it back in as DLC. )':

I have said Not-Wolf moveset; and like...it doesn't just feel the same. No lunge fsmash, no hard-hitting anything...no "What's the matter, scared?" ;____;
A lot of my friends are like "Good. Wolf's just a dumpass clone anyhow" and I'm like EXCUSE ME r u srs. have you played wolf for more than 2 minutes? Wolf was the LAST thing from a clone - I mean, you could maybe argue that Falco's keeping the dream alive but that's kind of a huge stretch.

To be fair, tourney mode was planned for release well before it actually was released (in fact, IIRC unused announcer sound clips found in the very first version of Smash 3DS indicated this along with a Yellow Team and 8-player mode).

Besides, remember the horseshit excuse of "leakers would leak cutscenes so what's the point?".

If the adventure mode was a lot like melee's instead of another SSE (Which was total shit in my opinion) I would not care about leaked cut scenes.
Anybody else disappointed that the intro was another hodge-podge of various cinematics instead of an original video? Just like Brawl?

At the time I first got it I personally didn't care, I just wanted to smash.

It would have also been nice if the adventure mode was like melee's if it were to happen. I wonder if people will ever hack this game soon and do some cool stuff with it. For that I shall wait.

The first time seeing Melee's intro, I was in tears. It was truly magical. I want to see something like that again.
Yeah, the Melee intro was probably one of the best introduction cinematics in video games. It's really good. But it dropped before Melee came out during the e3 reveal of Melee a few months prior. If video was easily shareable back in 2001, I'm sure you'd have a different perspective on the matter. Namely, "yo what the fuck why did Sakurai include the same intro cinematic in the game".

I'm honestly more impressed that every newcomer in the base game got their own Introduction Trailer- with various animation companies working alongside Sakurai to produce them. And it works, especially as an effective way to build up "hype". On the flipside, doing multiple intro trailers cuts into the animation funds, it's expensive to have all these really great looking trailers and then make a big one. I'm sure there's a set limit to how much Sakurai can actually use for animation.

One big CG trailer, multiple short CG cutscenes in Adventure Mode, or a handful of roster revealing trailers. From a marketing perspective, yeah the latter's much more plausible and practical.
I've been playing around with Cloud and Midgar a lot recently and they're both a ton of fun; I felt more satisfied being made to buy both the stage and character than I did for Ryu/Suzaku Castle (Ryu's gameplay is finnicky and Suzaku Castle is, although understandably so, pretty bland). My only nitpick is the Midgar music; two tracks is pitiful. I think it's borderline criminal how Bombing Mission and One Winged Angel are both missing.

EDIT: well I guess music won't be too much a problem for me, since I'll soon have Midgar in my Project M build and can pick a stage with a shitton of tracks to replace. Somebody's already got an almost finished Midgar for Brawl/PM:

(This guy's ridiculous, BTW; he's already gotten a good number of SmashU stages ported to Brawl.)
It's crazy to think Final Fantasy got two games dedicated to and in celebration of Final Fantasy music, yet Smash gets only two songs, which are originals from FFVII. I was really hoping other Final Fantasy games got a little love, like at least the boss battle theme from FFIV, both for being the first SNES FF and the theme was used for Culex in SMRPG, or something from FFI (Battle 1, Chaos Shrine), or a battle medley covering multiple FF games.
In that regard, it's pointless for Cloud and Midgar to have the "FF" as their icon instead of the Meteor icon, because FFVII is the only Final Fantasy represented in Smash. You can argue about the Chocobo hat (I have that game on DS where that particular style Chocobo comes from), but FFVII has Chocobos. By the way, I find that hat, along with similar hats (incl. Majora's Mask), pointless, since I can't recreate certain characters with them. Segue:

I think I can work with Knuckles, but Tails being having that same hat issue ruins its purpose for me. If it was just the top of his head, without a face, I could try and make a Tails Mii, like I would Knuckles. I got some use out of Fox by the way, using the costume for James from F-Zero X, but I doubt Tails' body'd be good for anything. I am looking forward to the Takamaru, Ashley and Gil (Namco must've pushed the shit out of that one) costumes, since like I said, I can recreate certain characters with those. I am happy with my Geno Mii and am convinced I made a better Mii than the one on the Smash Bros. site. I used the MegaMan.EXE helmet and wizard costume before the update.
I read a rumor in passing that in the Japanese version Bayonetta speaks English in her Bayonetta 1 costume, referencing the fact that only Bayonetta 2 had Japanese dubbing. Cool attention to detail, though I guess a moot point in the western versions.
Uh, NICKtendo, you can make your own original character Blails. And your original character Bluckles the actual Knuckles.

How embarrassing.
As an Olimar main, I hate playing Cloud

The fucker can outcamp me with his neutral B and his dash shits on Pikmin Toss

Atleast it's not as bad as Kirby
yeah, im also having trouble with cloud as a diddy kong/c. falcon main. i wont be surprised if cloud becomes top tier.
I'm a Duck Hunt main and I can say Cloud is definitely annoying. His neutral B makes the can more difficult to use.
One good thing about Snake not returning means Cloud might not return in Smash 5.
You're right.

They need to make room for Sabin. Cool
