Also Leffen, who is regarded as the 6th best player in the world, acted like a giant salty man baby and broke his controller after he was upset
The way everyone blew up Leffen for his trash talk on twitter immediately following his COUNTLESS blunders this tournament was kinda funny though. Even Chillindude suddenly tweeted "I like this tournament a lot", rofl.
Westballz did it for me.

Isn't that how pretty much every pro Melee player plays though? Like watching Mew2King (both onscreen and off) is the most robotic thing I've ever seen

...how in the world do you break a Gamecube controller? Do you just like, chuck it as hard as you can against concrete?

After a few weeks of not playing Smash my friend and I started talking shit to one another after getting my ass handed to me in Mariokart (please note our 'talking shit' is trading playground insults:  "deluxe triple Hitler" and "pepperoni pizza shit" are usually what gets the ball rolling) we played again, and I...think I've actually improved
When I play, I tend to bounce around the roster and try not to pick the same character twice whereas my friend uses generally 4~5 different characters that all piss me off, lol. Maybe you guys can give me a lil advice (also, if you're curious my "tear shit up" character is Ness). Anyway, the characters I have trouble with:

I realize they're all spacing characters.

- Zelda (I find Greninja works best, as Shadow Sneak is really hard to read for a Zelda player to react to. I'm still mindgamed by her teleport recovery, though)
- Duck Hunt (I find that using a space animal [Fox works out better for me] and rushing him down does wonders)
- Palutena (I still have no idea. She has TOO MUCH UTILITY, between her reflective shield, and the wind-gust created by it and her wings throw me off when I try to play a rushdown character)

He also plays Mega Man and Marth, but they're usually fun to fight and result in some close matches.
Captain Falcon will make all three of those characters cry, basically. Zelda is just waiting for you to hurt her. Let her throw out some pointlessly slow attack and rush in for a punish. If you're going for air combos after the punish never be in front of behind her. Go for upairs because of her insane FAir and BAir.

Duck Hunt is all bait, perfect shield his projectiles and walk in at the same time and you should have no problem. Watch out for his cans and use tilts to send them back if he's not controlling them at the moment. Once you've gotten within a few meters of the dumb dog he's trashed.

Palutena is like a waste of space and I hope they buff her eventually. Almost all of her moves are so laggy, slow, and ineffective. Just go up and attack her after she missed, she's prone to extreme punishes for missing anything and you can practically 0-death her if she doesn't escape by teleporting.
Funny you should mention how Captain Falcon gives those characters a run for their money. I have a friend online who considers that guy to be the Chuck Norris of video game characters. Even though I won't violently defend Captain Falcon if anyone says he's not the best character, I can at least understand why he would seem like a powerful character due to his speed and fighting moves.
Captain falcon has a very laggy ground game actually, but he's good for punishes because he has the best dash grab in the game, and those kinds of characters are the kinds where you have to bait out an attack and punish accordingly. Captain Falcon rushes in with a down throw where he's free to deliver as many air combos as he likes by free upairs following the grab or baiting out an air dodge with a free knee. In fact you'll probably want very little to do with the ground as our good FZero pilot unless you're going for some hard reads, after all his smashes may be slow but they're just brutal in knockback and damage.

Raptor boost is a good spotdodging nerd repellant!

Edit: I find Duck Hunt's most painful matchup to be Kirby. Taking his abilities is one thing, but all of Kirby's tilts and aerials just kill the dog, its super easy to gimp Duck Hunt's recovery with a drill DAir or two.
Personally I'd recommend the Mii Brawler. Make one as short as you can and about 3/4 full weight. Imo he's like falcon but had access to a good projectile and a great kill move. The shotput eats through things like butter and down throw to helicopter kick (which is his second custom) kills at the side at 60%-70% iirc
I thought this was more of an all purpose setting, in which Mii's wouldn't be there

This is why I love playing Captain Falcon. I don't think his ground game is that bad though - his tilts and both jab finishers are pretty good.

And even though it's really hard to do, I think the most satisfying thing by far is landing his up-tilt meteor on a recovering foe.
I mean if we're posting smash gifs now

Oh I was last to post

rip
Lucas available in little over a week, 2 days and an hour before the Digital Event. I expect a Ryu reveal trailer at E3.
Lucas, the Splatoon Mii parts and Miiverse (stage) release at the same time. I do wonder if there'll be more, like more Mii hats and costumes like with the Mewtwo batch. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised, like with the X and Proto Man costumes. Oh, and Japan is getting a free K.K. Slider costume and hat via some kind of limited 7-Eleven event. It's listed on the other language pages of the Smash Bros. site as well, but with no release date or price. Not stoked, especially since you can't make K.K. Slider with it (it's literally a costume), though it's funny he uses his guitar as a gun.
So yeah, I'll be getting every bit of DLC when it's released, like before.
I'm also getting a Ness amiibo apparently. My friend got one instead of the Lucina he ordered and wants to sell it to me (saves him the shipping costs of sending it back).
I expect Roy reveal at E3 and Ryu reveal at Evo. It'd make more sense that way, especially since Nintendo sponsors tourneys now.
