yeah, sorta on sakurai's side here. i would rather have no pacman than have him with the new design. thats kinda like putting g&w in, but making a new design for him so that he looks "modern" or whatever. imo, i dont think thats how it should be. classic characters should have their classic designs.

now i know some of you guys will be like: "but recme, if thats what you think, then shouldnt mario/link/marth be in their classic design?" well, no. all those characters are in their design now because its iconic. when you think about marth, i assure you that you arent thinking about this:

instead, you think about pretty boy marth because thats his iconic design. when people think of pacman, most of them dont think about the new design and think about the classic one.

im sorry to those who like pacmans new design, i just think that it has no place in smash.
Who likes Pac-Man's new design, again?

If they throw in some Wario's Woods music in there, I'll be even more happy.
No, everybody(mainly Sakurai!) knows that Wario's only important game is WarioWare and that every other Wario game never happened, right?!

I'm still salty. I'm also not a big fan of Sakurai but whatever
Most characters aren't in their classic designs because they look too goofy.

Mario,Sonic,Link, etc all modern designs.

The Pac-Man in Smash isn't classic either this is

Only in the US. In Smash, he uses the design he's had since the first Pac Man in Japan.

Slightly altered, but relatively the same thing as

A guy on reddit posted this, and I thought he had a good point. I'm not looking too much into it because I'd hate to lose hope

Quote:I was looking at the King K. Rool Mii costume and realized that the style it is based off is the retro version of King K. Rool rather than his trophy which is based off his modern design. See image below for examples...
What is interesting is that all other Mii costumes that also have trophies like Proto-man and Dunban are almost identical in design and the assets are taken from the trophies (though their size and shape were changed in order to match the Miis shape... also note that some elements have been altered for some like K.K. Sliders head) So I wonder why would they make a custom Mii costume from scratch when they could have just modded the trophy like they have done in the past.... (perhaps the costume's assets are taken from King K. Rool's playable model?)
I'm glad something K.rool got in thats not a trophy or it's music.
That's a really good point, why would they use the DKC1 design instead of the newer design? a lot of the other Mii outfits look very similar to their trophies, odd.
Well, why does Andross use his SNES design? Why does Link have his TP design but the Mii costume use his Skyward Sword design?

There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for any of this.
Why does there have to be?

Okay, now this is getting weird. What the hell is that man plotting???
No idea what that swordsman costume is.
I'm probably completely alone on this, but I'd rather have Mike Jones from StarTropics in the game instead of King K. Rool.
Which means I'm kind of hoping that the King K. Rool costume is just to acknowledge the votes, but not necessarily say anything about him being playable.

The way I'm looking at this, the Link Mii costume is from a different incarnation than the playable Links. Same goes for Zelda's Wig. What if the Mii Costume is based on classic K. Rool so that the possibly playable character is modern K. Rool like the trophy? Just a thought.

EDIT: The Swordfighter is Lloyd Irving from the Tales of series.
That's Lloyd Irwing, from Tales of Symphonia, a popular Namco RPG thingamajig I dunno never played it.

He was a popular choice pre SSB4, and probably still has some notability on the Ballot. So yeah, another popular vote turned into a Mii Costume, without any hints on how this affects the actual character's chances.
Oh my good gravy, Lloyd is a Smash costume.

I might actually buy a costume.
Oh, I'm having my fingers crossed for an Alex Kidd costume.

EDIT: I sympathize with Sakurai and team for the tremendous amount of bullshit they're getting, just because the world is full of idiots that have expectations that go beyond the reaches of space.
