No johns, just anger. He was so salty that I had a heart attack right there because too much salt and blood pressure issues

Alternate universe where Smash 64 is the only game in the series and Sakurai just continued to work on the Kirby series after that.

Imagine that.
Sakurai's line of Kirby games are my favorite, the style captured in Superstar has never been done right again I feel; and Kirby's Air Ride is just an underrated gem of it's own that needs a god damn actually budgeted sequel already.

And I dunno, Smash 64 is pretty hype

EDIT:
Actually one of my main dreams is Smash 64 with 50+ characters and slightly faster, albeit with some tiny core tweaks here and there. I'm sure not even Sportoise enjoys shields made out of fine China... lol

EDIT:

Oh my GOD THIS GAME IS SO GOOD
Dude I'm a puff main. The only time I pull up the shield is because of input error because I'm not going to risk blasting off because Sakurai thought it was funny

I actually had the idea of designing, coding, etc a hyper offensive low poly platform fighter that's basically Smash 64 with a giant roster and tasty-ass textured low poly models. I had everything sketched out but college got too heavy
I think actually wished for exactly that in a thread once, except with TSR people as the fighters. People pointed to TFR thread and had no idea what I was talking about though, lol. It'd take a lot of effort no matter how you slice it though, and modelling is a skill even less of us have I'm afraid...
I know there was some sort of new fighting making engine coming out recently that used 3D models, but I have no idea what kind of work goes into that and whether the program is free.

I know there's a few people dabbling in the ideas of low-poly modeling, maybe things could be brought together sometime.
If you guys do this

can Banjo be in it
I like how 64 shows that Smash being slow isn't a problem. If you offer less defensive options and promote offensive play, it'll be pretty hype no matter what. If only it weren't so old...

0:48...

I'm done.
if the low-poly TFR fighter thing ever becomes a thing, i'll learn modeling just for it
I've always wanted to learn low poly modelling, it's so appealing and the texture work takes traditional pixel art into account. Wish there were some easy tutorial for someone who's never touched a program before, not that I'd learn it just for the sake of this (It's important not to get sucked into something just because of the hype alone).
PigArt does some really cool low poly art. You should check it out if you're at all interested.

I dunno if it'd be quite up your alley, Iceman, but I'd recommend maybe at least taking a peek at the Reality 64 project. It's an in-progress mod of Brawl that is to Smash 64 what Project M is to Melee.
I'd take a peek... if there were video of it... Sad

Geez, I could've sworn there was. Must've been confused with something else, but I really THOUGHT that I saw gameplay for it. My B.  Embarassed

Yikes. The closest thing they've got after two years is a GIF of Mario's SSB64 as a WIP in BrawlBox.
