Jesus Christ that's horribly ugly, I didn't even remember that.

Starfox itself is full of gravity diffusing nonsense to the point where their Arwings are equipped with enough technology to travel between BLACK HOLES.

I'm sure they have a gravity field around the ship or something :V

Yeah, Star Fox Command had an entirely new Great Fox design. After seeing Fox's redesign in Brawl, I figured that the Command Great Fox would appear in that game. I guess I get that the WiiU version would still use the Assault Great Fox, but the Command Great Fox would make a perfect 3DS stage.

...only, there was a 3DS remake of Star Fox 64 in the last 6 years, so they'll probably draw assets from that instead of a relatively obscure DS game.

I imagine this might be the Final Destination version of the Great Fox considering it's practically a flat line

But I'd rather forget Command ever happened, quite frankly

«In general, there are completely different stages in the 3DS and Wii U version, but we made Wily Castle and the special boxing ring available for both versions! We didn't forget the Yellow Devil either. There may be some small differences in the stages, such as the 3DS stage appearing to be during daylight hours.»

So does this mean the 3DS isn't getting it's own unique Mega Man stage? That's actually kind of lame.

I mean it's possible he might have more than one stage, but not likely.
I actually kind of saw this coming. For Mega Man, at least the classic series, they mostly associate the original handheld games with being more or less the original. In fact a lot of the old Game Boy games used mostly the same kind of stuff, even if new stuff was added and stuff was rearranged.

What might have been cool was a Mega Man and Bass reference, since it did get made for the GBA down the line. Sadly, no dice it seems. Sad
Needs more Quint.
Wasted opportunity right there. Instead of the Yellow Devil, the Mega Man Killers should have shown up.
I was hoping we would, perhaps, get a Megaman Zero inspired stage for the 3DS version.

Oh well. Sadface.
It's still possible for more Mega Man stages. Pretty much every other version of him had hand-held options, some almost entirely so. Legends would be the exception of course, due to them killing it. Sad
I was hoping for a battle network inspired stage. I mean, we had... 8 on the gba?
I can think of a lot of good ideas for stages for various Mega Man series, but let me narrow it down a bit:

X: Highway
The X1 intro stage. Iconic, great music, accurate portrayal of the series trend of a chaos between humans and both ordinary and maverick Reploids

Battle Network: The Net
A stage consisting of the blue and red battle grid as platforms, which never move, but the background shifts between various net domains, like the standard net, Undernet, WWW net, etc. Platforms could be altered to have effects or crack based on hazards from the background

Zero: Laboratory ruins
The intro stage (revisited a few times in the series) shows how the bright future that was being protected in the X series became bleak and decrepit. Various kinds of robots could appear here as hazards, including some very important ones that show up here.

Unfortunately, I don't have enough Star Force or Legends know how to give a good stage idea for them off the top of my head. Sad
I don't know that a stage from one of the spin-off franchises would really appear... Nintendo has gone so far as to split up Mario and Wario, so it wouldn't surprise me if they consider each of the Mega Man lines to be unique franchises (Capcom does, I'm pretty sure). We're more likely to see another MMClassic stage than one from X or Legends.

I keep forgetting to mention, but when Lucina was revealed Sakurai talked about how she was originally going to be a costume for Marth until they decided to give her different statistics. This kind of implies that character slots can house multiple characters, much like it can for the Tekken franchise. So long as the characters stats are identical, they can be placed in the same icon.

Does anybody think this could mean Protoman actually showing up? I know a lot of people have suggested Ms. Pac-Man over Pac-Man, and it seems like Protoman over Mega Man isn't that different. He wouldn't have his signature shield, of course, but regardless...
Again, Quint.

(Mega Man II for GB was the only MM game I really owned as a kid)
The reason I doubt there is going to be a second Mega Man stage is due to the patterns set up in the previous games. Historically the "side" franchises are lucky if they even get a single stage when they make their debut appearance. It's usually one or none.

- In Smash 64, neither Earthbound nor F-Zero got a stage. They each gained two in Melee.

- In Melee, Fire Emblem did not get a stage, but they got one in Brawl. Game & Watch and Ice Climbers each got only 1 stage.

- In Brawl, Sonic, Metal Gear, Pikmin, Kid Icarus, and Wario each got only one stage. ROB got none.

Just following the pattern, I don't believe Punch Out, Pac-Man, Wii Fit, nor Mega Man will get more than one stage per platform. It's always possible, just not likely. ESPECIALLY since there are so many franchises they need to cover this time around.
I've always considered Pictochat as ROB's stage since they're both peripheral elements.
