Mario,Sonic,Link, etc all modern designs.

The Pac-Man in Smash isn't classic either this is

Only in the US. In Smash, he uses the design he's had since the first Pac Man in Japan.

Slightly altered, but relatively the same thing as

Y'know there's all these throwbacks to Pac-Land; I'm surprised that one of the alternate costumes for Pac-Man isn't his Pac-Land design with the trilby and quill.

You know what I'm going to do?
I'm going to make a Theodore Roosevelt Mii.

EDIT:
I find the amount of mustache options in Mii Maker terribly lacking.
So hey is it anything possible that we'll get Best Tales Protagonist now that Lloyd's out of the picture?
I'll settle for a costume!

All I want is the 100 Acre Woods stage and I will be happy.
How come? You want to play silly mini games involving collecting honey and your attacks are changed to "hitting" each other? Tongue

Sarcasm or not, Tales of Vesperia never showed up on a Nintendo system...

... wait but I guess he was in Project X Zone. Which I guess that game and Sonic Racing All Star Transformed Sega Whatever is how Akira and Jacky Bryant don't break that rule as Mii costumes...

I guess Yuri has a chance...?

Yeah but it doesn't have anybody with TWO KATANAS. Which is why Lloyd would have been nice as a full character (especially since I... really don't like how Mii Fighters play except for Brawler, but that's just me). I mean, tbh, Lloyd was a big hope for a new character when Ryu was introduced (by the reasoning that, if Capcom got another rep, then maybe the other third party companies will get full-fledged characters as well!)

Luke could be cool too though, especially if he used his Fonic Artes to make him more of a spellsword character like Robin as opposed to a totally sword-based one.

I guess that's the frustrating thing to me is that like, if Shulk, Roy and Lucina hadn't been added, I think Tales characters would be a WAY more welcome addition but now that Fire Emblem went a teeeensy bit overboard (and I'm the one who argued with Koopaul about them having just the right amount of characters way back when, Roy's addition, despite being DLC, is a bit much) Smash Bros is kind of... riddled with anime swordsmen because every important Fire Emblem main character used a sword. And every main character in any RPG used a sword. So... swords everywhere. I mean Technically Jude in Tales of Xillia (who... has never been on a Nintendo system?) uses his fists but Jude also kind of sucks so...

Actually, who else that's big from Namco (AKA not relatively obscure arcade games) would be a good representative that hasn't already been relegated to Mii Fighter costumes, if Namco goes the way of Ryu?

Or Klonoa.
Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima or Yoshimitsu from the Tekken series. Yoshimitsu also appeared in the Soul Calibur series by the way.
I don't know about who's a Mii costume, but Namco has loads of potential.

Mappy and Taizo Hori (Dig Dug) are video game staples
Klonoa is a beast of a cult favorite
Soul Calibur has already crossed over with Nintendo and features at leadt three mascot characters (Nightmare, Siegfried, and Sophitia)
Tekken shook the foundations of the fighting genre and also boasts a great cast (Heihachi, Kazuya, Jin. Nina also qualifies, being the only Tekken character to star in her own game)
The Tales franchise has two legacy candidates (Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia or Cless from Tales of Phantasia [Lloyd is the franchise's Ike while Cless is the Marth])
KOS-MOS is in an interesting position because she's an RPG and SciFi icon, but her games are also intimately linked with the Xenoblade franchise

And of course there's Ms. Pac-Man and the ghosts, who are themselves just as significant as any of Namco's other mascots.

I would love if Nintendo would let Namco produce a Namco All-Star pack... like, a substantial update feature fifteen or twenty Namco characters (and stages) and priced as a full game.
Pichu needs to make a comeback
