A trident could also benefit Ganondorf a lot, considering the abysmal range his attacks have in Brawl.
Is it just me, or would anyone else appreciate a real combo system similar to more traditional fighters in the next Smash game? I'm not saying make it as complex as other games, but I don't know I just feel like Smash Bros. is more of a game I'd play with friends and laugh around with than really compete against someone. It's also why Smash games haven't held my personal interest for too long, I could learn a character very quickly, there wasn't a great amount of depth to them or real experimentation.
That's the reason why I like Smash more than any fighting game, I don't have to spends months mastering one character

That's why I consider it more of a party game than a fighter. Still an enjoyable one.

Sony tried to combine both with their version, but we've seen how that turned out.
I think it would be cool for one character's gimmick to be a more expansive combo, but I really wouldn't want Smash Bros. to get filled up like that. The game is more about reaction than rumbling.

Basically my thoughts, although I'd say that a character in Smash is easy to learn (as they all have the same input commands), but takes time to really master.
I never liked the idea of combos. Memorizing a string of commands... There's no room for creativity. In most fighting games, in order to win you must use the same moves and the same strategies to win. Each charter is designed with the a specific way to play rather than allowing you to come up with your own strategies.

In Smash Bros there are so many ways you can use the same character! Then there are other factors that affect the fight, the stage and items. While people say this doesn't make it a serious game, I disagree! The stage and items are all a part of the challenge! Learning how to use them to your advantage and how to survive. That takes true skill and a lot of creativity on the players part.

In any other fighting game there's a lot you can predict because people tend to use the same combos in a sterile environment. It's all memorization. But Smash requires you to think on your toes. It's that uncertainty that give it it's edge.

Brawl was already on a duel layer disc. I don't think they could fit any more trophies. It takes a while to create even simple models, cut them some slack :p

you know what, you're right. i like the trophies, they are a fun little extra. like in melee where they made full 3d rendered mother 2 models in the style of their clay figures.
but beside that, i couldn't care less haha. i doubt anyone buys a smash game because of the amazing amount of extras.

i would also love to see ganondorf with a trident. or two swords like in the wind waker, but i think a trident would be more interesting and a cool reference to the classic zelda ganon.
they could make his attack long range, but they need to be well timed seeing how ganondorf wouldn't be the fastest character around. a lot like king dedede.
If they removed the Stickers and shrunk the Adventure Mode, there could be hundreds of new trophies :p
Also the "masterpieces" and the "chronicle" sections in Brawl were kinda pointless to me.
You know what would be awesome in this smash bros?

Bringing back Race to the Finish and Board the Platforms. Also giving back characters their individual Smash the Targets stage.

Hell with it they should also have the Home Run Derby as one of the mini games in classic mode too.

Hey, a guy can dream can't he?
If they added combos that worked like Marth's Smash B combos I'd be fine with it. The problem is that it was already difficult to come up with the current moves of many characters.
So once again Sakurai mentions the challenge of having Ice Climbers in the 3DS version. I wonder what this means for Olimar? He has five little guys following him. Perhaps instead of having Pikmin follow him around he'll just pluck and toss one just like Kirby's copy ability.
But the pikmin are smaller and less complex in function than a second iceclimber which is a fully operational and full sized character. I think Olimar's pikmin won't be an issue but I can be completely wrong.
Not Ice Climbers :C
please don't let technical issues keep them out.
They might not have been amazing and always fun to play as, but their gimmick is too interesting to give them the boot.

((I was prepared for character cuts but the only ones I was actually concerned for were Wolf, Toon Link, and potentially Lucas))

((uh oh))
