Interesting. It looks as if Mario is the character he updated the least so far. Nothing has changed. Maybe he'll get a new Final Smash. All I know is that Mario really needed some improvements.

You could give him a jesters hat too, that would be cool. Purple would be a cool colour, and arms are so last year. Maybe change his face to be more expressive, larger eyes would be a must. You could spell Bandana Dee a little different, because I don't think he's officially named Bandana Des. Possibly something German to make it sound military-y. Marx, would be a good step in the direction.

That would be a Bandana Dee Marx I could get behind

Except that Waddle Dees and Waddle Doos are basically the same creatures. Waddle Dee even becomes a Waddle Doo when enfused with Dark Matter in Kirby 64.
He might take on the appearance reminiscent of a Waddle Doo for that fight, but he doesn't use any of an actual Waddle Doo's electric abilities; he solely uses tackle attacks. They just used Waddle Doo's appearance referentially because Dark Matter always gives whoever he possesses an eye theme. (Adeline only shows she is possessed via evil eyes, as does the fairy queen; Dedede has an eye in his stomach which he attacks with).

Besides that I find the suggestion a bit insulting because Bandana Waddle Dee already has his own distinct moveset that makes him distinct even from normal Waddle Dees thanks to his spear ability. In fact Returns to Dream Land provides him nearly a full moveset as is, including a decent projectile attack, so it's not really necessary to add other characters' abilities to him as well.
The latest update certainly puzzled me. It said both versions would ROUGHLY have the same assists and Pokemon. I wonder whether that means they won't have the same roster or whether they have the same but they do different things between versions, or whether they just look different.
I think it means that one or two Assist Trophies will not be in the 3DS version due to technical issues.
I find it funny that currently newcomers only have had either a blue or a green background. Just a minor observation.
I would completely support a Bandana Dee and Waddle Doo tag-team. Replace Ice Climbers. Also Kamek and Kammy would work well also.
Aw hell no, you can't take my Ice Climbers. They're one (two?) of my favorite fighters.

Besides, the Waddle Dee/Doo tag team isn't really plausible. They're not about to start using generic enemies as fighters. That makes about as much sense as including koopa troopas or goombas. Bandana Dee only stands a chance at all because he's evolved into a unique personality in recent years.

My assumption is that there are some assist trophies that take advantage of the 3D effect that aren't going to appear in the console version. Another possibility is perhaps there are some assists that only have a chance of appearing if you're playing a specific stage.
Why would you need to replace Ice Climbers?
They're such a unique gimmick that represents Nintendo's early years.
And sure, you can do tag-team with lots of people, but it seems like it'd be a waste of a space to get rid of representation for an entire series just to add another Kirby or Mario character :I
Give Waddle Dee the Beam Wand during his Beam attack, like Beam Kirby does. Just plain and simple. Kirby fans will get the reference.
Final Smash: Flare Beam.
Not saying that Beam is essential for his moveset, because like it was mentioned, he has a good one in RtD. That doesn't mean it's out of the question. Dedede doesn't throw Gordos in RtD.
some certain characters are already confirmed anyways. ice climbers, captain falcon, and ness are confirmed because of screenshots and direct. i think i remember in a certain interview, sakurai said he was having difficulties adding ice climbers in the 3ds version.
Well I like the idea of Bandana Dee having his spear based moves for his Normal moves and borrowing some moves from unused Kirby powers, like Beam for a neutral or side special, the jet helmet for Up special and the Spike helmet for down special. Granted, the spear moveset probably has a diverse enough set to do a special moveset solely around that, but I like the idea of other moves getting a chance to shine too.
Where are Ice climbers confirmed?
Are you referring to the items?
They have items and enemies from their series confirmed. I definitely think the 3ds framerate is what Sakurai was referring to when he talked about difficulties with the ice climbers. After all, a 4 player match with them constitutes 8 characters on screen plus whatever Pokemon or assists happen to appear.
Items don't mean a character from its respective franchise will appear. Lip's Stick has been in Smash since Melee and we don't have anyone from Panel De Pon as playable characters.
