DK always looks weird in Smash style. Along with Bowser...which got a revamp so it's pretty much just DK that still looks awkward
I don't find the Wii U version of Smash' DK that awkward, but maybe that's just me.
I do have to say that the 3DS version isn't quite pleasant to the eye. So they've chosen the outline, because of the 3DS' small screen. Why the busy (and ugly) fur texture?
I do think DK is way too shaggy, and it's extremely distracting and weird.

But it's not as bad as Sash 64 DK, which looked like a literal pile of poop.

Something I want that has nothing to do with playable characers/etc.: The Koopalings to have trophies (or new Smash equivalent)

I completely agree. Would love to see them be included as a Smash Trophy. (Or maybe one of them being playable).
I think the closest we'll get to a playable Koopaling is Bowser Jr. I don't think it would be unreasonable for the other seven to appear as Assists or stage hazards, though. Trophies are pretty likely.
They could always give them the New Super Mario Bros 2 treatment and put them all crammed in a clown car.

Called it and thank god.

I hated Subspace Emissary and I'm glad it's gone.
That's an improvement. The mode itself was quite fun, but why original enemies and bosses when there's tons of 'em you can pick from from the games represented in Brawl. There's Porky, Rayquaza and Ridley, but that's it and they were kind of out-of-place, except for Ridley.
And let's not forget the levels. I want to race Sonic through Mushroom Kingdom, not Boring Generic Plains. Knowing we won't get Subspace 2 is quite a relieve. (Sorry for sounding dramatic about it)
And there's an outstanding amount of no updates on the Smash page...
Patience is virtue. I doubt Wii Fit Trainer's movie is the last one.
"But it's a BORING virtue!"

Sorry but this isn't going to be like Brawl.

I'm just as eager as well to see some new characters, or see an item page for this Smash Bros, but it's clear that we're not going to get an update every day of the week like last time. There's no need to express how much we want an update through impatience.

That being said, with the Yellow Devil being in this I'm almost certain that the new mode (which is supposedly an arcade like mode from what I have been hearing, maybe a bit like the adventure mode in Melee) I'm certain we're going to get what we want out of this.
I have a sads, I thought the Subspace mode was a vast improvement over Melee's Adventure Mode. I couldn't stand doing the same stages again and again to get all the trophies x.x;

I also thought the original enemies were pretty cool.
If there could be one improvement that the Adventure mode in melee needed, it could have had more random stages.

Maybe we'll see that in the new one.
