Goddamn ninjas.

Also, could this also mean that Gamecube Virtual Console is incoming?!

Guys, let's play a game and cross off spaces as the events occur now.
With that adapter in mind, I think I'll just go with that instead of that PDP fight pad (but I'll probably pick one of those up as well anyway). It'll be nice to give my GCN controller collection a new breath of life.

Also, holy crap I hope that the Smash GCN controller pictured with the adapter becomes an official reality. One guess I have is that they'll have those controllers made exclusively for the Invitational players, then a few get snuck out and/or given away as prizes afterwards and go on to live a life of commanding outrageous prices on eBay.

I love how they started playing porno music when they showcased the Gamecube controller and adapter. ROFL
Good god that's barftastic.

Fling your hate at me all you want, but just use the damn current controllers, they're perfectly fine and fit yo' hands just fine as well.
If you seriously can't take like 10 minutes to get used to the button layout, you're a lazy pile of shit.

They fit your hands fine, and the button placement is perfectly fine if you take the time to adjust to it. Like the gamecube controller is snug I guess, but so are these controllers, and for the last time, different button placement isn't some eternal damnation to playing worse, just get over yourself and adjust to it.

It's absolutely disgusting seeing some of the stuff I'm seeing elsewhere in response to this, shit like "Now I'll buy the Wii-U, can actually play now."

Holy fuck people like that should jump into a fire.

EDIT: [Image: xGmBw7e.jpg]
AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THIS AWESOME CONTROLLER.
I agree entirely Gwen. You have been able to change your button layouts in Smash as it was, so if you really need it to feel comfortable, you can. This honestly feels like a copout to me. Now if they introduce a way to play more Gamecube games on the Wii U, fine. But if not... I do not like this.
Meh, it doesn't bother me the slightest whether or not the Wii U is able to use Gamecube controllers. I could just adapt to nearly any controller Nintendo dishes out in a matter of minutes.

man why does anyone care what kind of controllers anyone else uses

"you like the old controllers? why? you are stupid, i wont be your friend anymore"

"get with the times lameo, the future is now idiot"

fuck all that noise

ill use whatever controller i damn well please, thanks

no offence to anyone who believe their opinion to be superior to my own
This isn't some elitist bullshit man, I love the super nintendo controller, like one of my all time favorites, but like, that's for the Super Nintendo.

Nintendo made rad controllers that nobody even wants to try or use because "WAAAAHHHHHHHHHH THE BUTTON PLACEMENT IS DIFFERENT BUT STILL FULLY FUNCTIONAL AND THIS IS LITERALLY WORSE THAN THE HOLOCAUST" or some other reason.

I just find it ridiculous that Nintendo's pretty much held at gunpoint to keep bringing this controller back. Like it physically sickens me that people wouldn't buy the Wii U because it didn't have "my" controller. Like get over yourself people (Not you Sevenstitch), if you actually try out the new controllers, they're pretty radular, ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY the gamepad.
You know, more OPTIONS isn't a bad thing. In fact. No one should be mad at this.
(I get being frustrated at people refusing to try or attempt to get used to the other ones. After they've tried it, then it should just be user preference.)
Don't hate the options, dislike those that are too dependent on them.
If they suddenly made a Power Glove, PC keyboard and/or Super scope adapter for the Wii, it'd be just as neat. (Heck, even a ROB adapter).
I guess that's what I'm more mad at, but the fact that it's become a controller that people won't let go of has made me like it even less.
Think of it this way.

It's Nintendo's way of shutting those people the hell up for the time being.
Yeah, only because they're getting exactly what they want. :L
