I am just waiting for people to make this work on PCs too. I want my Dolphin emulator to be played proper.
I wonder, does it use BOTH USB ports? It almost appears that way there, but it could just be.. I don't know, showing it next to something else in the port.

Doesn't EVO host a Smash Bros Tournament?

I may be misreading this, but you do know Smash is at Evo this year, right? It was there last year, too.

Look, I don't care if you consider it a party game or not. The fact is, it has punching. It has kicking. The game revolves around characters fighting each other. Ergo, it's a fighter
A, It was a joke?????

B, Wait was it really at Evo, did Evo legit had their own torunament setup? Or was it brought in by someone who brings games who hosted their own tournament because that is also a thing.
Evo hosts Super Smash Bros titles. SSB can be played as a casual party game or a competitive one. Considering SSB's ENOURMOUS competitive following and how technical it can get if played seriously, I'd say it's two sides of the same coin.

It doesn't make sense when people classify it as a party game and nothing more when it's massive community proves otherwise.

EDIT: Oh it was a joke, fuck. Don't post so fast :V

I believe it uses both USBs because the Wii U doesn't power by USB - so it requires both to be plugged in to power the converter.
Whoops, I thought you were being serious. I've heard that so many times by people being serious, so I automatically assumed it wasn't in jest

Don't listen to me, I've been drinking

Also yeah, Evo hosts a legit Smash tourney. A lot of the bigger tourneys that I've seen have too, even to go as far as to include Brawl and Project M
I have my reasons for calling it a party game, but like I seriously don't wanna start a fight so if you wanna hear why I do, then PM me. Also yes jokes. (I need to stop being such a shy poster arhg)
so woah that's a couple of page jumps. I assume everyone loved the new GCN controller port? (hahaha jokes on the inter-net)

I actually didn't comment on Ike last week oops!!!! Work and School and general Ike hype must've prevented me. But yeah woah Radiant Dawn Ike that was really awesome. I was one of the few people who totally 100% supported Ike's return and probably one of the few people on this forum Pre-Brawl who knew who Ike even was. So yeah no 10/10 good job Sakurai. I'm starting to wonder if any of the Brawl vets will be cut, actually (outside of Snake, Ivysaur, Squirtle, and Red. Sweatdrop).

The Smash Invitational was a GENIUS marketing move on Nintendo's part. They know that the Smash Bros scene has only gotten bigger, and that most of these hardcore players probably aren't interested in Smash 4, especially with Project M getting constant updates and shit. So, what better way to both intice the competitive scene than with GameCube controllers and a silly items on free for all tourney!

(I'm not as hyped for the GameCube controllers tbh though, I adapted playing Brawl/Project M with a Classic Controller Pro specifically for Smash 4. Guess I thought this would be the game they got rid of the GCN controller. Glad I was wrong, and I hope these new GCN controllers have the same feel to them.)

(Also another good thing about this is that the GCN adapter is all wired and shit, which is good for Tournaments and shit. Too many wireless controllers linked up can cause some controller problems, and we DON'T TOLERATE JOHNS IN THIS FUCKING COMMUNITY.)

so woah guys, that means we'll be seeing Gameplay soon! All six newcomers were confirmed usable in the demo build, as well as:

Mario, Link, Pika, Kirby, Fox, DK, Samus, Bowser, Zelda, Marth, Pit, Zero Suit Samus, Olimar and SAWNIC.

Is this the same roster for the Best Buy demo? Probably. Expect a ton of Gameplay videos and final smash vids too. At least, I hope so. I really want to see DK get a new Final Smash...and it wouldn't surprise me if Olimar gets a new FS too, considering the Hocolate ship is an item now!

man each new day brings so many cool new updates for Smash. I'm getting hype, guys. Maybe tomorrow we'll see Wario's reveal or something and my hype train will fly though the roof.

I don't blame ya. I consider Mario Party the defacto espionage & betrayal game but some people call it a party game .

Hey guys, the tablet controller is great. Unfortunately, both the classic controller and the pro classic controller have really crappy control sticks. That is why I prefer the gamecube controller.
The adapter is nice and all, but I take issue with the fact that it's clearly only going to work with games designed with that controller in mind. The main issue being that true Gamecube controllers lack a ZL and Minus button, meaning it can't simply be used in place of the awful Pro controller in any given situation. How many games aside from Smash Bros are even going to be designed for use with the Gamecube controller? You can't even make the argument that you can use it for Wii titles, because there aren't really aside from Brawl that even utilize it (excluding the Virtual Console titles).

I was much more interested in the previously mentioned "Gamecube inspired" controller that allegedly could completely take the place of the classic and pro controllers. I was imagining something like the classic Gamecube controllers with modified shoulder buttons to better accommodate modern games. While nobody else probably cares about this, I really hope that Nintendo hasn't completely abandoned this plan in favor of the newly announced adapter.

I believe this

I tried using a PVR Rocket powered by Wii U

Don't work

Anyway I had a post about controllers here (maybe somebody noticed) but then I realized there were three more pages after where I picked up. Ooops.

I like the Pro Controller and the GamePad and they're awesome and stuff and yeah I'll definitely give Smash a go on 'em but the GameCube controller seems literally built to play Smash Brothers.

Button placement and stick placement is just too perfect and too comfortable to where if I'm given the option I'm gonna take it

I must agree that it is rather odd they're just straight up porting it though as opposed to adding a couple extra buttons to make it compatible with more games

Super Mario 3D World with GC Controller please Nintendo
