I don't really see a problem with this tbh considering that the majority of the post-64 Starfox games sucked pretty hard. Taking the series back to what's pretty much unanimously considered the best game in the series is the move they SHOULD be making.
They took the 64 formula and evolved it to more modern standards. Just put Krystal in somewhere and we're good.
Adventures was slamma jam, eyeh

Following the old formula and improving upon it is fine... In fact that's fucking great.

The problem is this: they could easily do that and just make it a sequel :/

When every single good Star Fox game is a re-do of the same game that's bad, we just got Star Fox 64 3DS.

no, stop. please. krystal's the fucking worst why do people actually like her aside from her lupine assets

...
this baffles me

you have super hardcore fans who are pretty much begging for remakes or reimaginings of old, classic games (I've seen "literally make sonic 1 in 3D" WAY too many times) and when this is a series that pretty much rests on that principle, its fanbase complains

they're both series about animals, and one tries too hard to add to the formula and turn it into something completely weird and different to the point that people dislike it
and the other one just takes the same basic formula, setting, and characters, changes a few aspects, and adds genuinely new and cool game mechanics, and people still dislike it

Can Ya Please Anyone In This Day And Age

I'm glad it's not Starfox Command if anything rofl

Personally though, As An Established Fan Of The Starfox Series, I feel like the game could use some more on-foot exploration. Assault's on-foot missions where you equip and switch weapons just felt so....correct
What people should do is consider it the remake of the unreleased Star Fox 2. After all, it was in that game that they had the bipedal Arwing design that they are using in Zero. It even has the exploration aspects and finding hidden tokens while running around a much larger ship area.

Another thing is that I don't mind them re-imagining Star Fox over and over, so long as the gameplay is constantly fresh. I mean, there was a huge HUGE difference between Star Fox and Star Fox 64. Both games still have their draws, however, and are still fun to play, even if they don't hold up in the standards most people have for graphics these days.

The Lylat Wars is basically the highlight of the Star Fox series anyway. Corneria vs Venom, Star Fox vs Andross, etc. I kind of like the idea of the victory against Andross leading to a long-lasting peace that leaves little need for a true sequel. That's obviously just me, but still, re-imagining Star Fox doesn't bother me, as I said.
"Can ya ever please the fanbases? lol"

No because this planet is full of people who have differing tastes and ideas, you can't please everyone 100%.

I'm sick of hearing that shit.

I don't dislike Star fox Zero, I just want to move. The last Star Fox game was already a remake of 64.

I personally hate the idea of just remaking or re-imagining the same game over and over. "Give us Sonic 1 in 3D, give us FF7 HD, give us the same game we've already played a billion times"

I think Zero looks great I just wish it was a sequel, everything still looks great about it and I'm gonna get it. Re-imaging's are better than remakes anyways since they mix up the gameplay. Silent Hill Shattered Memories is a great example.

agreeing with this. its so anime that i actually cringe a little :v

star fox zero seems cool. never played a star fox game, so i guess ill just try out that one
The way I see the "constant reboot" thing is

that's like, miyamoto games
sure, it'd be great to continue the series storywise
but then I remember miyamoto gives next to no shits about story

also I like krystal she's cool
no way I have any bias in that determination, nope

I wanna say that, after speedrunning the 5 stages of grief, I'm ready to play metroid prime fed force
pilot mechs, work together with friends, and still struggle with just capturing what would normally be just a miniboss for samus

Looks like Yooka-Laylee got a small bump since it's nearing its end as well.

Hey can we get an update on this chart with Shenmue 3?

no

While I think it's possible that Shenmue could break the record considering its much higher goal and the fact that the final 48 hour push is a long way off, I can honestly see it flatlining just as hard as Yooka-Laylee considering that it's such a niche title. Rabid fans will dedicate a lot but once you're past them there's not really much money left to get.

That being said, I think Shenmue DID actually break the record for fastest 1 million.
The sole problem I had with Nintendo's E3 was the lack of surprises. Minus the likes of Paper Jam, Triforce Heroes, and the new Mario Tennis, most of what we saw was stuff we already know about. The upside imo is that the bulk of them are actually coming out this holiday (especially on the Wii U side of things; 8 games by my count including Xenoblade and StarFox Zero). Also, I'm neutral towards Federation Force and the FE stuff.

Other than that, I'd give it a C.
I've been on that social media all week and I've been wondering all this time

Do Japanese fans cry, scream and post pictures on Twitter of themselves crying and videos of them on YouTube shouting, crying, and hooting like idiots when sequels and remakes of video games are announced? Or is it just us weirdo yanks
Blank..................................................I liked Star Fox Assault.

My dream Star Fox series is that we travel to different systems and help out anthropromorphic animals as Star Fox team mercenaries. Something akin to Star Wars Clone Wars. Episodic Missions in different systems. Abilitiy to control different Pilots with varying stats on thier machines. Ability to transform vehicle to altered mode. Ability to get out of said vehicle shot down enemies and friendlies on foot. Infiltrate and complete multiple objectives while clearing out enemies. Local player co-op. Boss Rush. Time Attack. Hard mode.

My only problem with Star Fox Zero is I'd also like to be done with Andross. Everything about it looks fun.
Actually, Star Fox was one of the few Nintendo series to take continuity and story seriously. I mean, Assault could have easily ignored Star Fox Adventures but they instead integrated it into the main story. Hell, Prince Tricky even grew up in that game. Then in Star Fox Command you get even more connections to the lore of the series.
I just hate that Last Guardian is forcing me to get a PS4. I'm just happy to see it live.
God, the Last Guardian trailer. I think my heart melted out of my chest and all over the floor. Now what am I supposed to do with all this heart juice.
