Sakurai's kind of strange. "Accurate portrayals"? That so much bull it's unbelievable.

I want to see an alternate dimension where Captain Falcon never made it into Smash. Fans demand him and detractors say, "He's only in the Blue Falcon! Having him fight outside of the Blue Falcon would go against his character."

Then Sakurai finally has Captain Falcon in the game, as a boss riding the Blue Falcon.

“I definitely know that Falcon’s a much-anticipated name for fans, but if we made Captain Falcon as a fighter, it wouldn’t be him any longer."
Not to mention Ness and Robin using abilities that aren't even theirs...
Or Donkey Kong and Bowser using animal voices instead of their actual voices. (Sakurai actual decided against using their real voices for no good reason except his personal preference). So that accurate portrayal thing is a blatant lie.

everything robin uses is actually usable in game, what

the only questionable thing is nosferatu but even that makes sense

I thought Sakurai talked about how Robin was given the abilities of other mages.

I haven't played FE:A yet, so I only have PotD and other people to go on.
I haven't either, but I usually do a ridiculous amount of research when it comes to Smash and Nintendo characters.
Nope, can confirm: Robin uses all the moves he uses in Smash in FE:A. The oddball is Nosferatu, only because he can't use it at the same time as the others since he needs to be a Dark related Mage rather than a regular one.

Anyway, majorly disappointed. As a Ridley fan I would have forgiven a size or mobility downgrade to make him playable. I do understand why Sakurai thought it wouldn't work, given he practically included an apology letter when he did a pic of the day with the aforementioned Nosferatu thing, but I don't agree with him.
Comparing this situation to Captain Falcon is just stretching it; this is looking to be an issue with size, not character traits.

However! Remember when Sakurai said (iirc) back in 2008 that Villager would be too innocent to be a fighter in Brawl? He must've either had a change of heart or found a way to make it work (or both), because he was the very first newcomer they revealed for Smash 4. Dude got "not-so-innocent psycho stoic murderer" implications attributed to him too, hilariously enough.

People change their minds all the time, man. With that, Ridley's probably a shoo-in for Smash 5!

I'm neutral on this whole heated debate about this one damn purple anorexic pencil-neck space lizard, but now I'm wishing Sakurai just responded with a "no comment" on the whole thing. You thought Ridley fans were pissed with the Pyrosphere thing? Watch them enjoy this game even less and hate Sakurai even more because of this news. Two days before the Wii U version comes out, too.
6 year wait for Ridley hype
DK: King of Swing has quietly released for the VC today Big Grin
DK King of Swing will get overshadowed again. :/
Guys, I think I've figured out how Robin works in Smash Bros. Chrom is on standby with the convoy, and Kellam is there to deliver them to him because he's the only one in the army that can run around without anyone seeing him. That's how Robin carries more than he can in Awakening and "regenerates" his items.
Honestly, I would have LOVED if Kellam was an assist trophy. He wouldn't be visible immediately after being summoned, and suddenly appear out of nowhere to spear the enemy. I:

He slowly and silently makes his way to a certain distance from a randomly selected foe, readies his spear, then the warning is heard. "Stealthy".

Suddenly, a metallic juggernaut spews forth from a rift in the background, chucks his spear like he's getting a luna crit directly at the victim then vanishes again, with a new victim in his sights.
Did anyone get the new Shantea game? It's out for both the 3DS and Wii U!
