Retro Arwing is cool though. I wonder why the Falco amiibo doesn't seem to do anything special for the game, though.

Now that I've had a chance to watch the trailer I can say that I recognized a ton of enemies, bosses and scenes from the SNES Starfox.
I'm kind of growing concerned for the Kirby franchise as far as the traditional platforming games are concerned. It kind of seems like ... it hasn't really been evolving much as of late. Triple Deluxe was pretty much just more of Returns to Dream Land with some small upgrades, and this new title looks to be just more of Triple Deluxe. Mark my words, the robot-suit gimmick is just going to be another temporary power-up like the Super Abilities of Returns and the Hypernova of Triple Deluxe where it's primarily going to exist just to help traverse puzzle-like areas specifically designed for it.

I'm not angry or anything, I am just very concerned that Kirby may be headed down a path of becoming like the New Super Mario Bros. series, where each game is just more of the previous with new power-ups added in. Kirby is my favorite franchise and I really don't want it to become stale.
Hey I was always interested in Tokyo Midnight Sessions #FE.

As an Advance Wars fan, people need to realize there will be a point where Nintendo won't give you exactly what you want. But that doesn't mean you should shit on what they give you.

Back before Advance Wars Days of Ruin, we got things like Dual Strike, AW1, and AW2. And they may not be Days of Ruin, but they were pretty fun.
Unless the robot miraculously turns out to be an animal partner style thing, it will undoubtedly end up being the new super abilities. That would be disappointing for sure.
I haven't really been a big fan of recent kirby games' strange mismatched lack of focus between combat and puzzling: we have all these sakurai styled movesets for different abilities, but most enemies are so weak and unthreatening that you rarely really have to use most of your arsenal, while the levels are much more dreamland styled with its puzzles, collectibles, and required abilities

Either way though, I'm sure the boss and miniboss fights will be fun, the robot will still be amazingly hype (it's a robot after all), and I'll still love the new character designs lol

It would be interesting if they added SNES Star Fox back into canon as a prequel to Star Fox 64.
Mostly because maybe I could finally get Fay into an actually published game ;-;
Well according to the direct the robot only has 10 copy abilities it can use, (or "modes" as they're called when the robot uses them), and since there are over 25 copy abilities available to Kirby, that suggests that the robot areas are probably going to be designed to not have the abilities it can't copy present, meaning it wouldn't be able to travel outside those specific areas.

UNLESS there are certain abilities that share what mode they grant the robot. For example, cutter and sword could both offer the robot's blade mode. That is one way they could get around it if they wanted to. But judging by the footage, it definitely looks like robot-specific areas are the way they're going.

Why doesn't Shulk do anything in Xenoblade Chronicles X? These stupid things are 95% and 5% DLC... Amiibo are such a wasted opportunity.
real salty that the UFO Power is only unlocked though the new Kirby Amiibo. I can't even use my Kirby Amiibo I currently have, as it gives the Smash Ability. =<
Yeah, I hate amiibo functionality on the 3DS. The whole Direct almost seemed to make clear I should've had a New 3DS. I guess it's my own fault for not upgrading :/

Anyone recognized the snake-dragon-like robots on Fortuna in Starfox Zero? I think they're based on the boss from Starfox 2's intro. Kinda like how those spider robots resemble Dancing Arachnid from Starfox's Meteor, which is made more credible due to MONARCH DODORA!!! (Still excited about that)

Good lord that is one sexy Ganondorf.

They even gave him Wind Waker's swirly eyebrows. That was a nice touch.

It looks like it's a lot less like super abilities than I had feared. Still very puzzle-y, but you see kirby fighting a miniboss in it and even actually manually getting out of the mech, so maybe it won't be as limited.
It reminds me a lot more of equivalent mechs in Mega Man X, which I looooved. I'm excited for these a lot.
It's the age of robots all over again. Transformers, Gundam Wing, Bionicles. Everything else includes a robot in their universe to be hip x3.

I welcome that age, because I'm getting pretty sick and tired of zombies and survival.
