I'm liking half Genie Hero a lot. I've got as far as getting the race ticket from the blobfish.
Going through a lot of my Wii U games again. I often play through a couple of my favorite games from the previous console before the new one comes out. I started this tradition with the N64.

Not sure if anyone has noticed this on amazon but this is a thing now.

It's interesting since this is another SNES game I know that's got a PS4 treatment.
Well, that is one of the best SNES games out there.

Kind of makes me want to see Ninja Warriors Again with new characters and stages.
Is that a physical release?

From what I understand, it is. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it is on digital as well.
Yeah it is actually, Natsume does both digital and physical releases, and their physical releases usually include a little trinket, which is cool - but here's the thing though: Natsume pretty much sells their physical copies directly on Amazon and Play-Asia as a third-party seller though they're pretty limited.

HOWEVER on Amazon a bunch of other sellers usually scoop them up and resell them at higher prices. So if you REALLY want it, you're better off waiting until there's a restock unless you don't mind paying like an extra $10 and still not getting a keychain...or just buying it from Play-Asia (though you'll pay out the nose for shipping whereas Amazon usually has Prime shipping)

Alternatively, ask the reseller if the keychain is included. If not, then don't even worry about it and take your money elsewhere
Half Genie Hero status: beaten.

Overall very nice, just as fun as Pirate's Curse despite the lower difficulty.

Well the Fire Emblem direct turned out to be a complete bust for me. While most of the games are ones I would be interested in, most of the games had literally next to nothing shown about them, it was more announcements like "Hey, there's a new Fire Emblem coming to switch, and Fire Emblem Warriors has two more seconds of footage where you can at least see Chrom slash some dudes".

The majority of the direct was pushing the new Fire Emblem Heroes for mobile, which I'm not as interested in. I want details on basically every other game announced except that one.
I forgot that direct was happening. Time to GamExplain the footage I care about.

Edit: Well, what I got from that Fire Emblem Warriors footage was... that the video editor hadn't finished working on the trailer for the Switch presentation x.x;

Echoes looks excellent though, I'm pretty excited about that Big Grin

The mobile game looks cool and like it could have had a lot of potential, but the maps are probably too small for what they're trying to do... I also don't quite understand how summoning works. I guess it's totally random? I wasn't clear on whether or not you got to keep your heroes after they were summoned, either, or if you had to summon new heroes everytime you played.
Meanwhile, it's Kirby's 25th anniversary and we've yet to see signs of any new games. :<

It's exactly what you think it is, and it's where all the microtransactions are: you put the colored tribute orb down and you have a chance to roll a character class you want, with a chance to roll yourself a dupe of a character you already have (imagine giving an orb to a guy for a 100% guaranteed Pokemon catch; except you just don't know what it is)
The only thing that concerns me is you don't have class-ranked orbs; you're just randomly rolling for varying rank classes (like you could get 5 3-star Olivias in a row)

What I'm curious about is like...is there permadeath? Please don't make me deal with permadeath I'm a fricken Baby. don't make me cry IRL over losing a four-star chrom
I believe there was an asterisk saying that fallen allies return after a while.
So been playing some games besides Monster Hunter lately (crown farming is boring as balls).

Completed The Last Guardian (I got it cheap). You know, I liked it more than I thought I would. Is it amazing? No. Is it as bad as some say it is - not by a long shot. I never had any issues with Trico except for one puzzle (his damn tail kept getting caught instead of dropping down...) but overall it was good. Not sure how it took 10 years - but oh well. I'm glad it came out.

Finished Shantae: Half Genie Hero. I liked it. Like it looked beautiful, played well, secrets were good - simply a very good game. Some reviews moaned about it being hard, honestly have no idea what they are on about... Very impressed with it and looking forward to more Shantae. (Pro-tip: Once you get the flame thrower and infinite magic, you can just "fly" over all the slide bits by jumping and holding down flame, good for trophy grabbing - specially the damn 100% Speed-Run...)

Also been playing Wild Guns Reloaded - apparently the UK doesn't get a physical release, which is pants, and well - cheers scalpers for making importing not an option... Anyway, good game. Been looking forward to this ever since the first teaser ages ago. Doesn't have online which is a bit lame, but oh well.

(Also: Playing Fire Emblem with perma-death is also known as "the only way" to play it...)
Resident Evil 7 is a surprising return to form for the franchise. Watching the early gameplay demos made the game seem like a typical first person horror game like Amnesia or P.T. I'm happy to say that now that the game is out it follows the formula of the classic games almost perfectly. I got Resi 1 vibes the whole time playing. I highly recommend it to fans that lost interest after 4.
