I dunno I think they're probably aiming for the audience that's not interested in stuff like Smash Bros.

Nintendo needs some games out there to get the "serious" audience.

But then again if you are only into serious games you probably didn't choose the Wii U as your current-gen console anyways.

looking at those release dates.
it's gonna be cannibalized by Smash sales and they literally won't push ANY units in Japan as it releases on the very same day.
If they pushed it up a week, it'd probably do much, much better.

Even if they did push it up by one week, it still wouldn't sell, since Watch Dogs turned out to be an overhyped piece of shit that feels like Sonic '06 in GTA form. You'd be amazed by the amount of used copies there are in every store near my area.

This video should tell you all you need to know:

Honestly that video looked more like a lot of whining and nitpicking than actually reasonable expectations/critique. It also reeked of "This isn't realistic enough."
I'm sorry, but this game....watch dogs.....looks like shit.
I mean the colission looks bull, i mean....
It's an abomination. This IS going to be like sonic 06. Definitely.
No doubt about it.
And my favorite part was the women being pushed by the car.
Laughed way to hard at that.

Eh, not really. He showed off the shitty programming of the game quite well if you ask me.
Looking at the annotations in particular, some of his complaints seem to be legitimate, but a lot of them just seem extremely nitpicky. I'm not saying the game looks great or anything, but good gravy he's whining about the smallest stupid little details.
Yo, it's not that there are a bunch of dumb glitches and tiny errors and whatnot, it's that ALL of this shit wound up in a game with a friggin 6.8 billion dollar budget. There's no excuse for this kind of shit to get through product testing, especially how much they hyped it up and that it's been in development for 5 years (and then delayed for a better part of a year to make sure it didn't have to compete with GTAV). Sure, a lot of stuff seems inconsequential but there are some straight up lazy graphics stuff (the optimization for UMD cards is a big deal, too for like roughly half of the PC gaming community) and if you're going for an "immersive sprawling sandbox world" (which this game OBVIOUSLY was) stuff like "only one person per car" and "five minute wide map" and "the PS3 and 360 games are ghost towns with no cars" are just plain ridiculous when similar games of the past (even on the PS2) don't have these issues at all. It's just embarrassing. And in a game about hacking, why is the best solution to just brutally and mindlessly beat the hell out of everything in the mission without using any of the fancy mechanics that are supposed to be the crux of the gameplay?

And keep in mind that the video is supposed to be a humorous video and not a super serious critique. It's just a good thing to point and laugh at, and a succinct way of showing off how many issues it has.

And that video barely touches on just how bland the story is: Angry asshole white dude in a baseball cap and trench coat does some morally dubious things, has a bunch of women close to him die as a resultĀ (the very definition of fridging) and is out for revenge without once questioning how all this shit could possibly be his fault or how any of the stuff he's doing make him a bad person. And then it turns into some bullshit superhero origin story in the end (regardless of really any choices in the "morality system") and it fails to say ANYTHING interesting about privacy and surveillance which is its central theme for crying out loud. All the side-missions and activities are totally banal and incongruous to the rest of the game's world most of the time. Some of the stuff placed under the profiling thing when you scan people is downright offensive (oh yeah let's make it a "personality quirk" that someone's transgender, real fuckin neato) and a lot of it seems like it's trying to justify the horrible violence you're doing to everyone. The thing is a steaming pile, don't play it. Mystie is right that it really shouldn't matter WHEN it launches, it'll probably do terrible anyway (and should, honestly).

(meant to keep this short but I just had to lay out every bad thing. and this for sure ain't all of it)
Thank you, Tellis!

Seriously, I'm not trying to be a dick, but Watch Dogs really is shit.
I don't doubt you, and the game really doesn't seem like one I would enjoy.

But that doesn't change the fact that the video didn't tell me all I needed to know about what is legitimately wrong with the game and instead chose to show off melancholy physics glitches that are almost to be expected from the gaming medium. Oh, and it complained about there not being enough graphics a whole lot. Which is what I said originally, that the video was nitpicking. I was never defending Watch Dogs.

I don't think anybody was defending Watch Dogs. Just critiquing the video.
I was interested in getting it for the WiiU until they decided to push the release date way back for no reason. It was just like with Rayman Legends, the game was finished! I'm not rewarding that kind of behavior.

Not that I'm defending the game by any means because honestly I've been pretty indifferent to it since it was first announced, but every time I've heard someone make this statement it turns out they haven't actually touched the game and are just basing their opinion on what everyone else has said.

Is it safe to assume that you have at least played the game when you are saying this? Or are we running into the same situation yet again?

(wow there is honestly no way to word that without coming off as a pretentious dick)
The Donkey Kong Land games are out in Europe and Japan but not America. What's taking so long?
Played a few matches of SSB4 online and ran into a Lucario player named Shade.

Castlevania month bro.
DK is probably next month.
Okay this might sounds like a stupid question, but I'm having trouble finding a straight answer. Can anyone tell me; on the Wii U, is the classic Wii memory stored separately from the Wii U memory? I mean, if I download a game onto the virtual Wii console, does it subtract from the memory of the Wii U? Or is it kept entirely separate so that the Wii memory doesn't effect the Wii U memory at all?
