I disliked death chamber and rouge's subsequent desert level, but I thought the space levels were fun because of the antigrav.
It's not like you couldn't have dumped the levels on a younge/older sibling :p. The point of the treasure hunting levels was to add the familiar unique gameplay introduce in Sonic Adventure 1 to characters not named Sonic since he was not the sole important character in the game anymore. I think the levels added nice transitions between Sonic and Tails's gameplay. Without them, the game would feel kinda empty. Giving Knuckles levels similiar to Sonic would have been pointless because it would have just been another game where all the characters run to the end of the stage to stop the bad guy.

Not that S3&K was not a fantastic game where they were still able to seperate Sonic from Knuckles by giving him more of a way to find paths to get to the end of the levels, but the 3d game just opened up for something more interesting and unique for individual characters/characters that fit that role.
tbh they didn't give sonic or shadow anywhere NEAR enough levels.
Why the fuck aren't Tails and Knuckles playable yet Froggy is? Wow, just wow. I lost hope for this game already.

Also, who is Shade?

You missed the part where sonic team is posting that, and then crossing off characters who aren't playable.

froggy will probably be crossed off first.

Actually, now that I think about it, everyone on that list (aside from shadow) is a "sonic friend".

Perhaps knuckles and tails were purposely left off so that they can't be crossed out?

Could you elaborate on this because everything in Adventure 2 was pretty much perfect story wise imo. No characters were out of place, they had good writing (or do I need to show you the true power of teamwork!!??!?), Sa2 felt like the last game where the characters actually were the characters.

That's what I meant.
SA/SA2 were great, but afterwards it's downhill. They even managed to mess up Shadow in Shadow the Hedgehog.
Really, now what's happening with Sonic games? Now every game MUST get a new character, specially a Sonic-like character in gameplay (how many hedgehogs are there now? OVER ONE THOUSAND?!?!!?!? (ok, old joke)) or an annoying sidekick-like kid character what manages to be more annoying than Tails and Amy Rose combined (don't get me wrong, I like Tails). And less running, more fanservice and more badly-programmed stuff. I've never seem such a bad pinball mini-game like in Sonic Heroes, even if I did tried to program a specially buggy pinball.

I think they should get simple to hit big. Less pseudo-deep stories, more running. Simple as that. Just "go" and start running, without having any camera issues, like the hedgehog segments in Sonic Unleashed for example. That what I miss.

Shade is from Bioware's Sonic Chronicles which actually did have a good story compared to what we've been getting lately.
Sega is trolling so hard right now.

It's great.

oh GOD don't remind me of this.
I literally spent three hours straight trying to get out of the pinball machine once. No matter what I did, I would always fall back out and have to restart.

AGH I HATE THAT LEVEL.

Same here. After beating the game I used it as a Frisbee. It was way more fun than the game itself
I thought Heroes was decent. I didn't have a real problem with it.

The Pinball levels were annoying but I discovered a trick to make it easier with your flying character.
The problem was that it was pretty much impossible to control where you were aimed, and the fact that you pretty much had to keep track of all 3 characters while they all went to different parts of the table didn't help either.
what bothered me most with Heroes is that you went through the same levels with all four teams. sure, each level was a little different each time, but that wasn't enough to justify it for me. I liked how Adventure 2 had completely different paths for the two sides that still crossed from time to time...I would've liked Heroes a lot more if it wasn't so repetitive.
Sonic Heroes was the shit, why do people dislike it so much?

I didn't find out that I had unlocked the Metal Sonic level until about a year, because I wasn't told I had to scroll right on the character selection screen.
i wouldn't have any expectations for this, nor hype for anything related to sonic. its way more healthy for us and we already know how much can expectations kill a game.

i'd just expect the "megaman 9" effect all over again.
