Because that statue was halfway based on the newer designs and half on the classic one, I was trying to find a certain Sonic Screensaver artwork but I could not find it. Since I didn't have much time on the computer, I couldn't find a better picture.

Tails was orange back then, even though sometimes he'd gain a more yellow-ish tone, he was sure more orange than yellow. His ears are normally smaller (newer artworks like in Sonic the Hedgehog for the 360 has really huge ears), his nose goes more forward like Knuckles' and is less plain like Sonic's, the fur pointing out of his muzzle is smaller, he has orange fur pointing out of the back of his head, next to his muzzle, his chest points white fur forward and not much sideways, his white chest fur is all zig-zaggy next to his neck, smaller and less thick tails, a blue belt on his shoe instead of a black one, and not to mention the changes that every character suffered on the transition from the classics to the Adventure:

- Roundish shoes instead of pointy
- Coloured eyes
- Shoe soles
- Bigger hands
- Oval torso instead of spherical
- Longer arms and legs


Tails was also illustrated with more expressive eyes and a huge triangular smile, not to mention really cute (and sometimes feminine) poses.

no wonder why fans love to make sonic fuck tails more than amy.

note that technically tails is older in the newer games, so obviously his proportions would be different and less childlike.

But still, I far more prefer all of the "edgy" next-gen character designs than the genesis-era cartoony designs.
The story and whatever needs to be reverted back, but the character designs should remain as they are.

You know they've been "changing crap around" for pretty much every post SA2 game right?

Yeah everything changes you just need to find the right ones. Ones that don't ruin the game.

This can be an argument about the longer arms and legs, but not about everything else. Sonic the Hedgehog was always 16 years old and his torso was spherical back then. Plus Sonic's arms and legs are bigger in Adventure even though he is still of the same age, so that added to the fact that the characters' ages are unstable in the series (some games portray Tails as 12, other as 8, other as 9, etc) and never mattered two shits anyway, the longer arms and legs are more of a stylish choice and less about the character aging itself.

does that really, really matter? its a fucking platform game not a RPG he could be 90 and all it would matter is how well does he jump/run for god's sake.
