I've said it before; the forced touchscreen controls in PH annoy me. Nintendo could've at least made it optional.
The difference is, Zelda made it work, annoying or not.

I find Chronicles' controls to be vague and cumbersome.
Touch controls are necessity in DS Zelda games.

Sonic first RPG though...? Nnnnnnnnnot so much.
No they aren't. They could easily be retooled to work just like the gameboy versions.

Then what's the point of the DS then? You should just be saying "The DS sucks and gives options to developers they don't need to explore."

I personally find touch screen controls in general to be bothersome to use and I'd much rather use real buttons. If the controls suck enough to make the game unplayable I'm not going to buy it. However if developers gave people the option to use face button controls rather than touch screen controls if they so choose then I'd be a lot more willing to try out a touch screen based game, knowing that I wouldn't be forced to use those controls if I didn't like them.

That's my 2 cents on the matter anyway.
It's long past the point where the touch screen could be considered cumbersome. If you've had a DS for its lifespan (which has been well over 5 years, btw), you're already used to touch screen controls of any capacity. Hell, even within the DS Lite's lifespan. Only instances where you could call it cumbersome is if:

1) The game's been shoddily coded. Stop playing shovelware you div.
2) You've damaged/not calibrated your touch screen. The hell is wrong with you?
3) You're holding the stylus strangely. Ever used a pencil before, you manchild?

Take your pick.

when did I say anything about the DS being useless?

I never said get rid of the touch controls, I said make them optional.

The touch screen is a single (though very large) feature of the DS, but it isn't the entire console. Games don't need to be locked to touch controls unless it's something like kirby canvas curse where it makes 100% sense for that to happen.
Gee whiz but we're deviating.

Into old, old, old, old territory.

That's no me quoting you that's me trying to figure out what you weren't happy with. I'd say a game like Zelda would be weird not trying to incorporate the touch screen but that's just me.
Well the way many of the items and weapons worked in the DS Zelda games needed touch screen. The Boomerang had puzzles where you needed to guide it along a certain path. You couldn't do that with buttons.... Well you could but it would be way easier just to draw that path.

Basically saying the game (if left the same) wouldn't work with regular controls, so the option can't be there.
How the fuck did we go from Sonic to Zelda?

Back on topic, people. *cracks whip*
Eh well um... Hm... nothing much to say about Sonic at this point that hasn't already been said right?
Sonic sucks, his fanbase sucks, game may be good, may not, has already been discussed to death.

I guess nothing else can really be said until they announce some more info on the game.
>sega leaks his own material

>discussion stoooooorm
Legitimate bump:

Interesting news about the game...
