Arceus's name may also come from the word archaic (ancient), which comes from the Greek arkhaios, and is derived from the ancient Greek word for "beginning", arkhē. It could have also come from the Latin word archetypus (original). Alternatively, Arceus's name can be seen as a portmanteau of Zeus, the most powerful of Greek gods and arch (highest). Another theory may be the combination of Zeus and Ra spelled backwards (Zeus being the king of gods and Ra being the solar god and creator, albeit in different pantheons). You guys keep forgetting this game is Japanese and therefor more likely to borrow from Eastern legends and religion than ours.

Either way I'm working on some more sketches for our legendaries so hang tight.

Had a dream last night. Remember that pumpkin Pokemon? Well I saw it's first form in my dream, it looked like this.



As you can see it starts out as a seed, then evolves into a pumpkin, then finally a Jack-O-Lantern.

I like it, although I'd kinda like to see something in it's design related to the crap you have to scoop out of a pumpkin before you have to carve it since the seeds and that stuff usually go hand in hand.

Actually, that one's more of an electric oni, with a few tigerlike features.

There's already an electric cat in the series anyway. Shinx if you're wondering. I do remember a while back someone mentioned a Sabertooth Pokemon. I think we should decide at some point what our cat Pokemon will be.

What about a leopard or a Siamese cat?

Leopard was used in Gen 5

Oh. I need to learn about the 5th Gen. sometime...

You should its one of the best Gens there is.

I was going to learn about it when I got White, maybe for my birthday.
