I said that. I also stated if it was flipped, it makes sence for it to be fighting, but for the rock paper scissor concept and Pokemon concept it won't work.

Edit: @ K Shadow: it's a good concept, but I think it was Wes that said or rock to be anything but rock wouldn't make sence. Is there another type combo that would work?
Guys,

this would be so much friggin easier if we made each a dual type.

Then the types can make sense with the rock/paper/scissors and we can control it more. It would only need to have one of its types super effective.
I found one that could work.

Rock-Rock
Scissors-Bug
Paper-Grass

Makes sence, scissors is bug because bugs, like ants have pincers, and bug kills grass, grass kills rock, and rock kills bug.

Went to bulbapedia and typed in rock(type), and went to the chart
I like that combination. The types make sense for each, and I will post concepts for these types later this week.
Guys you do realize that Rock Paper Scissors is not about what they are made of, but what they do.

Scissors cuts
Paper covers
Rock smashes

The reason I don't want it to be Bug is because Rock does not have a resistance to Bug despite being super effective.

Fighting Flying and Rock are both super effective and resistant to their respective types.

Besides Scissors can learn move like Air Cutter and Air Slash.
Scissors -Cut (Insects cut things)

Paper- covers (grass covers all sorts of things)

rock- smashes (rock smash things)
Yes but like I said, Bug does x1 damage to Rock. Grass only does half damage to Bug. Its not a perfect balance.

Paper being fight while scissors being flying? I know rock beats flying, but for scissors... And having scissors as fighting doesn't fit the concept of R.P.S.

Is there another type that's week to rock and another type that is stronger than rock?

My idea from the last page?

Psychic/Dark/Fighting?

Something completely different?

Dark is immune to psychic so it breaks the cycle

Fighting/Flying/Rock works perfectly

Actually it is, because bug does 1/2 damage to rock. If you look at the chart on bulbapedia under Battle Properties for bug (type) or rock (type) it shows it.

I would send a link but I'm on my iPod.

Edit: think I found a way to put the chart up.

Edit: nope nevermind that last edit
I don't know what you are looking at, but I'm currently looking at that chart and it clearly says that Bug does x1 to Rock.

Also, although I like the rock, bug, grass possibilities, I don't like the fact that there has already been a bug based on scissors. I'd say do with the original type set for now.
Also I like the idea of Flying because I can picture this guys with a pair of scissor wings coming from his back.

Scissor wings remind me of Scizor. Tongue
Guys, we need to vote on either fighting/flying/rock or bug/grass/rock.

My vote is on bug/grass/rock because then at least the types make sense with what the thing is.

For something thin as paper to be fighting seems stupid
Well when I think of Roshambo I think of fighting techniques.

Rock is a strong heavy hitter, using sheer force to win.
Scissors is light and swift, using its agility to win.
Paper is calm and resilient, using it's foe's own weight to win.

Also when I conceived this idea I wanted Paper to resemble origami, a Japanese art. The Japanese are also known for their martial arts.

Bug/Grass/Rock doesn't work though.

Bug is super effective against Grass but deals neutral damage to Rock
Rock is super effective against Bug but deals neutral damage to Grass
Grass is super effective against Rock but is resisted by Bug

Also, Koopaul, any and all Pokemon based off of fighting styles automatically are Fighting-typed.
