Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. Give me a few minutes, and I'll see if I can put those back up.
We're still accepting customs, Ultimecia. We just don't want the submission forums being flooded with recolors and, well, Super Saiyan Marios.

Custom sprites are to be posted in Sprite Discussion. If the sheet gets enough positive feedback, THEN we will move it to Submission (if the owner wants us to).
Okay, I've put the old smilies back up (and added in the remainder while I was at it). Hopefully, this won't happen again. T_T

Now, what to do about the ranking tags...?

I take it a forum upgrade was done last night?

You may want to take some of the smilies and swap out the default icons in the Post Icon area of the Reply/Post New Topic screen.

It was most likely a forum upgrade. Kinda annoying that it overwrote a lot of stuff, of course. I'll fix up the other icons in due time (read as "in just a few more minutes") done.

...Anyway, I don't remember exactly how the tags looked (gimme a break, I've been gone for a few weeks), so these will have to do for now. =/
Maybe a stupid suggestion, but this one is for the sprites submissions
I was browsing the severely outdated site, and I noticed many double sheets some with different names at the icon, but others were exactly the same.
What about creating a topic with all the ripped stuff list? Sure, it may take some hell of time but it could help us to figure which sheets the site don't have. Also it can used to check if it's worth submitting if there's another already (ie more sprites, better ripped).
The list of games need ripping could use some update, or split and divided by forum sub-sections (like Nintendo games, Sega games...). Easier to keep track, I guess

Also...Ahn..Well.... Uhhh... What about new site? Tongue
*runs and hides*
The new site will be done really soon. Thanks to the forum shit we've had to work with, it's been delayed by a few days however.
Once the new site is up, it'll be much easier to see which games have had what ripped, since it'll all be arranged by game rather than by random categories that the staff decide upon.
An archives section for old topics such as sprite competitions, Secret Santa, tSR awards, etc...
I have question before I make my suggestion:
Is the order by console permanent or what?
because I found that the original way you did things by company example
"click Nintendo, click Metriod, click Metroid Fusion, etc" was way easier I suggest that you go back to it. the whole system and alphabet thing has been done. Exibet A:http://tsgk.captainn.net/?d=irc and
Exibet B:http://www.gsarchives.net/index2.php
Well, the alphabet is really annoying, but the system arrangement isn't bad. In fact, in some ways, it's better.
The only problem I find is: Where do customs go? If someone made a custom Mario, would it go with the DS or GBA Marios? It's also weird that you have to split up different characters.

Now, my suggestion: Could you make Custom Submissions and Ripped Submissions different? Right now, you have it so that customs are put in the sprite discussion board and a mod has to move them. Well, that puts pressure on mods to check that forum a lot to move them all, and a couple customs have never even been seen by these mods.
We arranged by console as the previous arrangement was much harder to sort out. Other > Other > Other 3 is a good example of how we had to really just make sections for things that didn't have sections.
The entire site was collapsing because we had to really think about how to arrange it, and when companies combined or split, we had no idea what to do, and since we don't keep up to date, we were incredibly wrong in places.

Who knew that Hudson was a part of Square Enix? I mean, honestly?
And the solution to people wanting all Mario (for example) games is just to search "Mario", it has the same effect as a Mario Series button.

Hudson's a part of Konami, it's Taito that Square Enix owns.

And no one.
About the custom sprites thing, you could try to do something like what Sprites, Inc. has done. When they started their custom sprites part of the site, they made a sub-site just for customs and edits.

http://pd.sprites-inc.co.uk/

Of course I don't expect tSR to do this exactly like how Sprites, Inc. does it. But the idea could help keep rips and customs separate and easily findable.
Here's a good damn suggestion for you Dazz, put an announcement on the main board (like how we have Latest News at S-INC) and just say that the customs (which seem to be what most people are wondering about) haven't been added to the new site yet. That might quell some of the worries.
