We've discussed changing Luigi's opening. I'm not sure what the decision was if there was any.
Yeah, I suggested the Sub-Con door, but I don't know if we decided anything.
how about, keep the pipes, change Mario's to Red and keep his intro the same. But Luigi's is still green and his intro is way different. I think instead of jumping out, make him cowardly craw out of the pipe.
A red... pipe? Nah, they need to be green.
But I agree with the cowardly entrance. The whole static spinning "homo" pose he does in Brawl is... different... but... eurgh.
Luigi's simply the kind of character to really not want to fight. Just gotta make sure we refelct on that throughout the moveset and such. I'm liking the stance so far, because of the fact that it depicts Luigi's personality so well.
Why not keep his the same, and just have his foot get caught on the lip of the pipe when he jumps out causing him to trip out and slam into the stage?
Why do you guys wanna beat up Luigi so much? We can't make everything he does like that. At least make a quarter of what the stuff he does normal.
I also really like the Subcon door Idea.
I wish Luigi wasn't portrayed as being so pathetic, I actually like him better than Mario. :/
The idea where he trips on the pipe is funny, and the Subcon door is alright, but if we're going to do something like a Subcon door, why don't we have him coming out of a door from Luigi's Mansion? Like, he's got the Poltergust out, and walks out onto the stage, looks left and right, and then the door slams behind him and disappears?
I just figure we might as well do something associated with Luigi.
You guys say we shouldn't beat up on Luigi, but thats just it, Luigi is the punching bag of the Mario world. I mean heck, look at M&L
S, no one knows who he is. Luigi is to Mario as Meg is to Family Guy, and thats why he's so lovable as a character.

If we have him with the poltergust, people are going to expect him to use it. Something simple would be better. Sub-Con Door, SMB3 tornado, or something like that would be best.

I think the Warp Whistle is better then the Subcon Door. Super Mario Bros 2 was just Doki Doki Panic localized for everywhere outside Japan. Also, what if he entered by spinning on a blue shell and falling where he starts as an entrance.

How is him walking through a door and looking back and forth not simple? And I could've sworn we were using the Poltergust in one of his moves... Still though, even without him holding the vacuum, it's more iconic than the Subcon door.
Luigi gaining a personality separate from Mario is significant, yes, but I doubt anyone is going to see Luigi coming out of a Subcon door and go, "Hey, he's coming out of a Subcon door because Super Mario Bros. 2 is the first game Luigi was given an individual personality!"
So maybe the Luigi's Mansion door with the spade on it appearing and him walking out of it.
Because the Luigi's Mansion door isn't iconic in any way.
