And Roy, Bowser, Charizard, and Olimar.

I'm pretty sure a lot of Snake's attack had fire effects as well.

Mega Man's probably going to have at least ONE fire-based Robot Master weapon in his moveset. (coughcoughflameswordcough)

I'm all for giving Luigi Thunder Hand for his Standard Special, but give it a bit of range, too. If it were as long range as in M&LUnsureS, I don't think it'd be very useful.
My vote also goes to thunder hand.
I don't know. Luigi's only done that in one game.

Everything else has been fire.

And besides Luigi's green fireball is supposed to be like the green fireballs in Mario Bros.
Well, one can argue is that Mario and Luigi needed the help of a fire flower or a different power up to use different abilities. They learned abilities Fire/Thunder hand without the use of an item in Superstar Saga. But then as Koopaul said, one game.

I like the idea of a thunder ball instead of a fire ball because I'm thinking of this as more of an aesthetic change then a completely different move all together, but whatever, I'm cool with either way.

Oh right. Something came to mind for Roy. I've seen him do a critical hit in his game when he get his signature sword. Maybe it could be his B move? A powerful, slow sword swing. Just something I remembered.
I just think that the brothers could use some more differences and this would be a nice one.
And like Bazzoka said, they needed to use a fireflower to use fire and there's a a fireflower item in smashbros that they don't use when they're using the fireball. So if its a move that they are producing on their own, it would make more sense to me for Luigi to have his thunderhand.
Mario and Luigi are different enough. They have two different B moves and the other two work very different from each other. Besides whether we change it to electricity or not it will STILL be the same move so why are we making a big deal out of this?

Also you'd be ruining the Mario Bros. arcade reference. The reason Luigi's Green Fireball moves in a wavy way is because the hazardous green fireball in Mario Bros. moves that way while the red one bounces up and down.
So? Yes, Mario and Luigi are different, but then what should 1 more difference make exactly?
An unnecessary difference. It wouldn't change a thing. Except ruin the reason behind Luigi's green fireball.
Not only that, but I personally think it's dumb to dump a trademark attack because he used something different in one game.
Well, you know, it could be a 50/50 chance of it being a fireball or a thunderball. Koopaul said it himself, wouldn't make a difference, so why not throw it in? We'll keep Luigi's meaningful fireball and appease those who want the thunderhand attack. That and it'd also be a treat to those who enjoyed Luigi's electrical element in Superstar Saga.

Just to be clear, it'd only be an aesthetic change, nothing more... besides change fire damage to electrical, but you know.
While the idea of a Thunderhand reference is kinda cool, consider this: Not only was the Thunderhand stuff only in one game, but a subsiquent game in the same series featured him using fireballs INSTEAD of Thunder.

But here's a suggestion that might appease both parties, but likely just raises even more debate. It also depends on something, but I'll get to that quickly with this question: If Mario's alternate costume is Dr. Mario, does that change his fireballs to capsules like in Melee? If so, maybe Luigi can get some kind of Thunderball as a simple asthetic change in his Mr. L costume, which KINDA works since Thunderball and Mr. L originated in the Mario RPG series.

... The PROBLEM is that they emerged from two DIFFERENT RPG lines, so that would be kinda pointless too. But here's another suggestion: maybe replace one or two of his non-special attacks with some kind of lightning effect?

Really, I can see him just being the same, though.
When did Luigi use fireballs in the other games instead of electricity? You mean when he was using a fire flower?

Regardless, I'm not gonna fight for thunderhand, I'm justing giving my opinion on the subject.
Actually, maybe his forward smash can be Thunderhand.

From what I can tell (and kinda in my opinion) that move doesn't represent much for him anyway, and replacing it with Thunderhand would likely be the exact same thing, angling and all, just with electric effects.
Ganondorf and the possible changes to his moveset hasn't really been a hot topic in here, and really I don't care whether or not his moveset changes at all. However, I know there are bound to be lots of folks out there who want him to have a sword, and I found this YouTube video of a hack of Brawl that got me thinking about what I'm posting right now. Basically what the hack did was make the sword stay out after he used his taunt, and after it was out, essentially it worked like a Beam Sword. Does that sound like a reasonable thought? Using his taunt to pull out a sword to give him some range?

Here are some thoughts on the mechanics. Of course, everything is debatable and just quick thoughts, give suggestions afterwards:
-The sword taunt leaves him with the sword out. The sword would work as (or similar to) a beam sword. Or it could change some other normal attacks, like Smashes.
-When the sword is in hand, you can't pick up other items (like a normal Beam sword).
-The sword would have unlimited hits, or in other words, if it fell on the ground, it wouldn't disappear.
-The sword can be dropped from Ganon's hand when he gets hit, but he can't voluntarily drop it or throw it.
-To get it out of his hand, Ganon can taunt again to put it away
-Taunting when the sword has fallen out of Ganon's hand should replace it with some sort of angered or woeful taunt. (Anger is more in character)
-The sword can be picked up by other players, and can be dropped and thrown normally only by other players.
-The only way to "destroy" Ganon's sword is by throwing it offscreen.
-Once the sword is "destroyed", Ganon can't produce another one unless he loses a stock. (Or maybe after a certain time limit another spawns in his taunt?)
-As far as Costumes go, regardless of what is chosen, each form of Ganondorf that could possibly be suggested have a useable sword. (OoT has that one from Melee from that Gamecube demo movie, WW has his own sword, and TP has his own sword).

So that's my suggestion on Ganondorf and his sword. Of course, you can always just add a sword to certain moves like his Smash attacks and make him more of his own character, but PLEEEASE keep that Vacuum kick with his up tilt. Big Grin

As for Specials, I don't really know what should be changed, if anything.. I liked his specials, personally. But here's some suggestions to make him SLIGHTLY less Falconish, mostly just the way the moves look.

Neutral Special: Instead of a punch, what if he pulls back his hand, charges up his dark energy in his palm, and then thrusts his palm form for a cool explosive effect. The hitbox could remain pretty much the same. Of course, backfists are awesome, maybe we should keep it. Another suggestion is that perhaps, as he pulls it back, if the Special Attack button is pressed at just the right moment, he actually shoots the energy he's gathered forward as a projectile. It could reduce the knockback and damage, but increase the range.

Smash Special: I personally liked how they handled it in Brawl, at least as far as how it looks and how it fits into Ganon's character. However, I'm open to suggestions.

Up Special: I really don't have any new suggestions for this one either. The changes in Brawl always felt rather weird, I've never really mastered it, but at the very least it looks less like Falcon's.

Down Special: Either change the animation so that it's a move he does with his hand rather than his foot (like diving down and punching or something), or maybe make it a vertical stomp straight down when he's in the air. Doesn't do jack for recovery that way, though, not that it was very useful in Brawl to begin with to my knowledge.

Okay, anyone get anything out of that?
