We're not changing it because it's canon. We're changing it because the Mother characters deserve attacks they actually used int he game. It is their signature move, why shouldn't they have it?
The problem with Love and Rock'n is that we're pulling it out of our asses. I have yet to hear those moves utilized as good Final Smashes.

Besides I'm considering our audience here. Their expecting certain things. They might wonder why we did away with PK Starstorm all together.

As for Wolf Rags... if Fox and Falco didn't use Land Master I wouldn't mind Wolf using it. That's right. I only care to change things to make characters more different from their clones.
we aren't pulling it out of our asses, it's their signature moves. also, It's terrible in brawl, with a bit of focus you can easily dodge each one and, as someone said earlier, the user has no bearing on how effective it is. also, why would any sort of audience expect us to keep the half assed fs they gave them even though it made no sense and was one of the worst fs' in the game

I just don't think its right over changing things just because its canon.

Wait a sec, I'm confused!

That's what I didn't like about Bowser's representation in Smash Bros.

Bowser should be: "Bwahaha! Minions attack!"

And not: "GWARGHAGH! BOWSER EAT FACE OFF!"

Hm? And to think Ton said no about that with Mega Man...

It seems to me like you're arguing for that EXACT thing right here. Did you change your mind in the last day or so?

People living in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, but hey, I guess even though I think it's stupid, you still did it.
I think Koopaul has pulled a important question though. How does Rockin' and Love work? That's my main question here.
We're not pulling PK Rockin/Love out of our asses if they actually belonged to the character. What audience? Why should we give a damn about an "audience" it's a fan game, as in, we're not selling it. We have nothing to lose by trying to change the game. No risks, nothing.

We're not doing away with Starstorm all together if we do something i posted on the last page only about 10 minutes ago:

Kumatora assist with Lucas's take on PK Starstorm

Everyone get's their actual signature move, and we still have starstorm incorporated into the game

PK Rockin/Love could easily be used in a final smash. Yes, we actually have to think about how we're going to make it look really good for five minutes. Big whoop-dee-doodle-doo.

PK Rockin Theta, because I never got around to ripping Omega.
Everytime I see this I see fireworks. To little missles sent down that explodes and spreads across the stage as a geometric psi energy cloud thing that goes boom in several places.
We could even incorporate the name by using Psi Rockin a and make it look like the attack is power cords being belted as it explodes across the screen idk, we're here to be creative.
@ Sol:

Hm I should of said moves MOVES. I wouldn't change moves. I wouldn't change the functionality of a character.

Bowser is all prosthetic.

And Mega Man I was creating irony. I WANTED Mega Man to have a collaboration of moves, but Ton said no.
Oh! I just thought of something cool for that.

So it will be in a general space, so I dunno how close you have to be, but I guess a fairly large area. So, when the diamond shapes start to appear, anyone caught within it is stunned and then are dealt damage by the explosion. I'm imagining this as a sphere and Ness is in the middle of it.
I thought we could do something like have Ness's original "card" pop up and parody the original special effects. As Ness uses the attack his PP scrolls. It could be the setting shown in the screen example I have but with whatever stage is in the background taking the place of the enemy.
As cool and nostalgic that would be, I would prefer getting a little more creative then that. Since theta hits all enemies, I figured giving it a spherical area would help represent that. Though I really do like the idea of the card popping up and his PP scrolling.
The main reason I'd like to see PK Rockin' and Love as their FS's is that it is one step that would make Ness and Lucas a little bit more unique. Don't get me wrong, there's lots about them that sets them apart from each other, but... I don't know.

But really, it could easily go either way. I could even picture PK Rockin' and Love working with similar mechanics to Starstorm, because they feel like (at least for some versions) blasts of energy raining down from somewhere.

Seriously though, a poll needs to be put up or something, because this thread shot up about three pages in one day because of this crap, and I have my view on quite a number of posts per page, so that's a lot of bullcrap to sort through for this. T_T
You know, Koopaul is actually right that there are certain expectations. I think one of them (Lucas, probably) should hold on to Starstorm to keep him more familiar. Yes, I understand canon and all that, but that's a slippery slope. We'll be changing both of their movesets soon enough if we start down that path.
We only really want to change their FS's. We can't really change their actual movesets otherwise because of the way brawl presented it to us Unsure

EDIT: Ton iirc didn't you want to change Lucas's down B to PK Ground...?

This is something I think is a bit easier to live with as far as a comprimise, because for one, PK Love is subtlely included in Lucas' movesets as some of his standard attacks, and two, Lucas had a better Starstorm anyway.. And three, wasn't Starstorm actually part of the story in Mother 3? Granted, it wasn't LUCAS using it, but didn't they make some kind of bigger deal about it? I'm not familiar with Mother 3's story all the way through.

And for those saying Starstorm is easy to dodge, there are a lot of moves that are easy to dodge or difficult to hit with. Final Smashes are hardly instant death unless you use them intelligently. Of course, some are indeed better than others.
Personally I think Final Smashes are stupid, period. But it seems wrong to toss out a perfectly good and functional one because it's not canon or cause "it sucks." Remove it from one? By all means. Both? That seems like a bit too much. One of them should retain it in the same way one of the Star Fox characters should retain Landmaster.
