Explosions? For a demolitions expert? Ahahahaha, you must be joking. He's clearly an all-melee class.

seriously I hate what the Demoman became. He went from badass pipebomb-throwing black scottish cyclops that blew everything to hell, and now it's all about being a knight.

i had a 5 page essay explaining why it isnt but that would be redundant considering that the whole point is not to just wear a particular set, but rather to combine each item and work sets of weapons that work better in each situation.

somehow it turned to be more complex than what i though it to be :V

Too bad none of the new items have anything to do with the entire point of the Demolitions Man, which is to blow things up. With explosives. Because that's what he does.

Next thing you know they'll give the Heavy Weapons Guy a submachinegun as a replacement for his mini gun.

PS: Even if you do create a bunch of items meant to be mix and matched with other weapons, having absolutely no downside aside from "no melee" is still stupid and unbalanced-- especially when the items benefit way too well. It's basically "why would you NOT use these?" The shield has no reason to not be used if you have a projectile weapon equipped, and the sword turns ammo into HEALTH and the charge refills twice as fast?

More importantly, what does charging have to do with the Demoman?

Stupid.
the only thing is the Booties only tailor to the Targe and the Screen; it's literally useless if you decide to use stickybombs, and you're out without a proper grenade launcher : (

So you pretty much can't use them unless you combine them with non-demo weapons.

Even stupider and takes away from the point further.
Oh no, gimmicky items to mess around and have fun

FUCK MY LIFE
Detonator for the Pyro seems fun. Though apparently the Engineer gets nothing from this update.

(According to the cleverly hidden page.)

why would you not? because using any shield already takes half of your firepower, and cosidering the stickies are primary an area denial weapon, it forces any demoman into a more aggresive/survival build.

although if it comes to the point of desing, i'd have to agree(and have been complaining as to how the original 60's theme has been slowly put aside -and to an extent ignored completely)

what does charging has to do with a demoman? have you ever seen braveheart? the whole thing is a joke.

also: http://www.teamfortress.com/uberupdate/t...nator.html c:

also funny thing is, the new minigun for the heavy is to an extent a machinegun.

Look, I'm not saying you're not allowed to enjoy it. I'm just saying it's stupid how they keep introducing these random, unbalanced items that have nothing to do with the original class. (For the most part only the Demoman is an offender, but it's still dumb.)

Imagine that you had a character in a video game that is all physical and focuses on the physical aspect. A physical character, created to be physical.

Now give him ranged attacks that make no sense and have nothing to do with the character.

It's dumb. It's stupid as a character design aspect and it's stupid as a gameplay aspect. It doesn't make sense. If you think you can argue against that then you seriously need to learn the difference between something that is subjectively wrong and objectively wrong.

You can like it, but that doesn't magically stop it from being dumb.
I can sort of see some reason to it. That is, they could be trying to encourage a larger variety of playstyles.

I don't particularly think the tradeoff is worth it, but it's not like they did it entirely randomly. Hopefully...
idk, I was never a fan of the Demoman being a sword guy. I would have expected more or less... you know... stuff that's relevant to his drunk nature. Like, really bad drunk ideas that he would use as legitimate weapons, like putting barbed wire around one of his rum bottles or the Caber. Sure, the swords all tailor to his Scottish nature, and the shield being Highlander and whatnot, but did he really need four of them + two axes?

Really, I can see one advantage to this: because more people are playing Demoknight, less people are slinging bombs around. Which means less people are complaining about how overpowered his stickybombs and grenades are. Just sayin~

also oh my god that Detonator will make me play Pyro again
Uber update

Medic gets 3 new weapons

Soldier gets 5 new weapons, 2 new hats

lol what
Maybe the Medic can use all of the new weapons.

Yeah, I guess it's true, though. Demoman has more Demoknight unlocks than Demolitions unlocks.
also don't expect Engie items in this update

lack of decent contributions for him, so he gets squat.
So far, though, most, if not all, of the weapons revealed were Polypack entries.

And there were a few of those for the Engie (Lucycharm sentry comes to mind).
