Game is buggy. Graphically it bugs out a lot, and at times the camera is put in horrid places during the "3D" bits. Not only that, it really isn't what I expected.

There are some pretty boring long cutscenes thrown in that are low resolution, the voice actors have been changed, and there is a very definite storyline being put in place. You can talk to characters between selecting fucking levels, and you can select to use one sonic or the other.

Game is also very short. Like, 5 hours?
When did you play it, Dazz?
Doesn't dazz get prerelease review copies?
I seem to remember him saying he just asks companies for free games and they send them to him

This game's got the soundtrack of the year.

Of All Fucking Years.

This is the truest statement.

I am putting almost every song on my MP3 player as I type.

It simply does not get better than this.

Isn't that kinda long for a Sonic game?

I mean, that's longer than a Call of Duty game.

Sure, for an old school platformer, but for an average game today that is short.
I would like to say that some levels are really awesome, but then some are just poor... Soundtrack is pretty ace, but the break in pace is just so irritating. After you complete a level it does a slow colouring effect on the level...

And the cutscenes are just boring.
Are there any good unlockables in the game?
Not really at all. Zones are delivered in sets of 3, and then there's two acts to each zone, classic and modern. After completing a set of 3 you then have 5 "challenge" stages for each zone, which you have to complete at least one of in order to progress to a boss. There's also a sort of miniboss to each set of 3 which you have to beat to get a Chaos Emerald.
Challenges vary a lot, which is kinda cool, but usually it's just simple shit like "RACE AGAINST KNUCKLES!!" or "RACE AGAINST DOPPLEGANGER SONIC" - but there is still stuff like "Enemies move twice as quickly"

You can purchase the original Sonic 1 using points that you earn in levels, and buy customisation stuff which annoys me because it gets rid of the point of classic Sonic's classic style gameplay. It's all stuff like allowing you to use the bubble bounce thing, stopping dead in your tracks while still going full pelt instead the minor slow down to a halt.

Sonic 1 is the only real unlockable. Besides that, you can get unlimited continues for Sonic 1 and that's about it.

City Escape is so far the best level. And best track on the soundtrack.
i can still overlook that.
I thought you could unlock a number of other remixed fan favorite songs in the game. In fact I heard form somewhere that there was 50 or so songs that were remixed from other games and thrown in as unlockables. I'm pretty sure you can also unlock concept art and what not, although I may have misread.
