neither. i'm all in for new stuff rather than beating an old horse for the sake of nostalgia.
Yeah I can agree with that too, really.

If I wanted to re-experience a level badly enough I'd just play that specific game.
is not like that. both mario kart wii and DS have ported old levels from previous versions and they made them work under the new mechanics, because the core gameplay of mario kart hasnt changed.

we have seen sonic in 2D, isometric, 3D and Rail gameplays that wouldn't allow old levels to work under new enviroments unless the game changed its whole mechanics to fit each level or each level had to be redesigned(defeating the purpose of porting them)

basically, see what happened to Green Hill on SA2.

Which was impossible to even get to, unless you had an action replay or superhuman determination!!

I had neither.
I have been trying to get A ranks on every stage persistantly, but... not even halfway there. :/
It's easy as pie guys. I've done it at least six times over :p

Now the Chao Garden.... damn that thing....
i dont even mean unlocking the stage.

trying to apply SA2's camera, mechanics and physics to an original sidescrolling map.

result: an abortion of stage on the verge of umplayability that stands only thanks to its nostalgia-driven bases.

I'm pretty sure that converting the stages to 3D would be pretty damn easy. Mostly because 2D-only levels (sometimes with 3D linking segments) is pretty commonplace now. About half the stages in Colours (ignoring the VR stages) were in 2.5D. And looked great.
I attempted to find my last post but have given up.
For 8 seconds of trailer you guys sure let sonic get under your collar.

And DKC was great, it was just that everyone kinda knew what it was. Sega is a better cock tease.
City Escape might be nice....

Y'know I gotta say the case is entirely reversed for me. The Chao Emblems were the easiest and I've already gotten them all, but the main Emblems are AWFUL! Cosmic Wall high score in Hard Mode has to be 90k?!
I think it's worth me mentioning the hard on for Chao Gardens, PROBABLY stems from the hardons for Pokemon in this forum.

Not that I'm hating. I just wanted to point out Chao Garden seems to be only positive thing people can agree on in this thread.
Hahahaha, the irony here is that Mega64 hasn't made a good video since 2006

Seriously, people who like Mega64 should raise their standards a bit. Every time they make something new, it always ends up unfunny. They should have ended their little sideshows long ago. The quality of their videos plummeted to shit-tier levels, and they still haven't recovered since

unlike a certain blue hedgehog Cool

interesting argument! counterpoint: you like anime
