Complaining about a fanbase is never offensive (y'know, compared to things that are /actually/ offensive). It's accurate, more often than not.

What did get me was how unprofessional he was, though. He's an interviewer. We're watching to listen to the opinions of the guest; not him. Be conversational, but don't do whatever the fuck that guy thought he was getting away with.

And having your notes on a phone, fucking christ. I almost thought he was reaching down his trousers to start thowing literal shit everywhere, rather than the figurative he was managing up until that point.
You know what the Special Stages could use? Some Nack the Weasel.
I've been waiting for centuries until that guy gets to return. Playable would be awesome, but I'll settle for boss.
Speaking of Special Stages, I'm expecting each to be based on one from another game.

I can't wait for this game, but I'd have to hog my bro's PS3 if I want to play it. I only have a Wii.
No doubt more will be revealed upcoming E3, so I'll keep an eye on that.
You guys think they'll cover sidegames like Sonic the Fighters?
God I hope so. Bark the Polar Bear because CANADA.
denied.

The poll they asked clearly said no (they even specified that not even Knuckles Chaotix would be in)

Unless you're saying of something like a Museum mode which Sonic Gems Collection had, then there they'll pop up sidegames probably yeah. They did say that Sonic Generation was going to "cover everything".

Here's me crossing fingers for a couple of remixes of songs from Knuckles' Chaotix!

yes please
Well they're probably only interested in covering the 'main' platformers; which would obviously skip over the other genre'd spinoffs. If Tails and Knuckles aren't playable, then I can see Chaotix not making it.

Sonic Gems Collection's Museum mode had a bunch of old artworks for you to see, alongside movies and "demos" of games featured on Mega Collection Plus, and also remixes of music from Sonic CD, Sonic the Fighters, Sonic R, Sonic 2 8-bit and a Sonic 3 one as well.

So hence why I really hope a remix from a song of Knuckles Chaotix pops up there in a mode like that.
No, I meant in terms of inclusion in Generations.
Yeah exactly. I was saying that there was no way they'd include levels from the game, because the poll didn't ask it, and even specified that there wouldn't be Knuckles Chaotix or any other spin-off games. So hence why I was saying about the possible representation of it in a secondary mode like that.

jesus CHRIST this looks so GOOD

watching modern sonic's gameplay now

edit: Awesome, Modern Sonic's trick system is a bit based upon Rush Adventure's - you have to "finish" your trick combo to multiply the reward you gain from doing the tricks. Although Rush Adventure's seem still to be a bit better, because different tricks could be used for things other than just building combos - some tricks could spring you upwards or boost you forward and everything (and those trick skills would be actually used in level design), while in this, it's still a lot like Colors' (keep spamming A button during an automatic part), but with a finisher.

Getting boost power still seems very easy and relies few skill though. Still, looks really great! And about Classic Sonic's gameplay - the Spindash seems to be way too powerful and there are automatic parts in it but whatever, everything else about it looks perfect
That looks beautiful. Both Modern and Classic.
I still don't like how Modern Sonic's gameplay mostly forces you forward at high speeds. It only seems to slow down when you go sidescrolling which defeats the purpose of a perfect 3D Sonic experience. But then again this has been a complaint of mine for a while and it doesn't look like they plan to change it.

I think when the levels start looking more like M. C. Escher artwork is when I think the ultimate 3D Sonic experience will be realized. 3D is not one direction, it should allow you to go all over the place.

I've been waiting for someone to mention having a problem with Modern Sonic's gameplay.

I understand the plight I do,but I mean Sonic's selling feature is he's the worlds fastest Hedgehog who thinks a lot of himself and the fact no one can catch him right? That was the tagline and thought process I was aware of when Sonic first hit the Genesis. My question is why can't you love Modern Sonic for what he is?

The creators of Crash Bandicoot even claimed that Crash was designed off Sonic. Crash initial project title was "Sonics' Butt". I replayed Crash 1+2 and it's true. It's a old Sonic Genesis game only aimed at Sonic's butt (Like Modern Sonic has kinda been doing for the past couple of games except Colours, Day levels, Adv, Adv2B being doing right) which i mean to say there's a lot of grabbing stuff a lot of jumping keeping an eye out for good items and goodies. The only difference between the two is that one is doing it slower than the other. I get the whole i want more control of the Character king of deal but to deviate consistently would probably be more trouble than it's worth what with the whole Original Sonic part to compensate.

All I'm saying Koop, and to anyone else who see's problems with modern is that it's easy to call SEGA lazy, but when you think about who Sonic is and what he does, I mean outside of the realm of the Genesis games you were given because that's the interpretation and rendition we were given as kids not the personification of who Sonic is and what he does.

Sorry for the wall of text guys. I guess it's kinda stupid to get methodical and stupid on a Sonic game of all things. Tongue
