Nah I agree completely Vic. Infact Chespin is the only one I really like.
how many pokemon are there now? like a million?
Over 600 is a rough estimate of what most people said, I think.

By the way after those screenshots I've also decided that Chespin is my favourite Tongue

This might change with the evolutions, but for now I would probably go with that one instead of the other two.

Finally, Chespin deserves more love. I don't see anything overly random about it. Not anymoreso than any other "strange" Pokémon, anyway.
Guess which Pokémon I drew when the news was out? :>
Good to see others like Chespin too. Personally, I love all of the starters, but Froakie is my favorite. I mean c'mon, he has little reading glasses, you can't get classier than that. Gonna get a Froakie and name him Dewey.
Wait, so it this the first generation that doesn't have any sort of cheating device? Finally, people can battle online without any cheaters.
The only real reason I don't like Chespin (as a starter) is because he doesn't really fit with the other 5 grass starters. He's perfectly adorable as a pokemon, I just wish there was a different grass starter.
Also I'm starting to like the Y legendary more, despite my previous statement.
Depending on the version exclusives I'm probably getting a Froakie (named something starting with a C (no real reason--it just seems fitting)) in Y version.

Currently 654 are known. Expect the new total to be around 750.

I don't think those are meant to be glasses, though I could be wrong.

Personally I think he is going to turn out to be a "thief" sort of. The "glasses" look more like a knot, like how thieves in feudal Japan or whatever wore those rags on their head and tied the knot under their noses, and the big white tuft on his back kind of looks like a bag for, you know, stealin shit.
Late for the debate:

It was the plainness of the first generation that made them so appealing, and why they continue to do so. The modern Pokemon are far more difficult to even remember how they look like, while the older ones could mostly be drawn from memory after looking at them for just a short while.

Simplicity is a boon. Spikey messes of color and detail are a crutch.
Completely disagree. First generation was too plain at points and all of my favorite Pokemon are from all generations after the first, to say the later gens are over designed is absurd
I don't entirely agree with that.
I love all generations (except 3), but I have to agree with Kriven about that. Especially on the Chespin case. He's more complicated than he could be, when Bulbasaur is a really familiar shape (reptile) with a really familiar element (a plant on his back). I can't break down what are Chespin's characteristics aside from green spiked hoodie? I'm not saying it's bad, I started to like him more nowadays, but that's a point that is true. (Also Chespin doesn't have that many colors)
most pokemon i've seen have really unique designs and excepting the original 151 i am completely incapable of placing any of them in their own games, they're all interchangeable to me. i'm not even sure which game bidoof is from anymore.
