It is believed that Sonic Colors was a filler game. That would make perfect sense since Generations must have taken lots of time.

I've never really played much of a Sonic game, is the StH4 series any good at all?

I only played 1 when visiting my uncle's house, and most of the time we'd play the Dreamcast instead.
I also rented Sonic Heroes for like a week but I don't remember much.

Sonic 2 is my personal best game of all time, but nostalgia aside, yes.

I personally don't like Sonic 1 as much (though it's still a good game) but Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles are great.

Sengi~: I personally like StH4 a lot. It seems to be a hit or miss title, so you're probably going to have to try it out for yourself.

Right, but that wasn't even the question. The question was "Is it good?" not "Is it good in comparison to the other ones?" They're two entirely different statements, and they don't need to go hand-in-hand.

In theory, they are. The physics weren't that bad. You got used to it fast. It's just that some people like it, and others don't.
I do, actually, I loved Ep 1 and I'm sure that will be the same with EP 2
