Winky the frog or nothing.

but damn, that aquatic ambiance remix is stunning.

Yeah he can't seem to best his own work in DKC1 & 2.
It's unfortunate that he has a long career ahead yet has already crafted his magnum opus. Fans will always feel slightly bittered because nothing will match what has already been made.

I guess that means his remixes for the GBA port for DKC3 are nothing to sneeze at, too?
I dunno, I'm really liking his work on this game so far. Aquatic Ambiance is really good but so is that interesting "bgm5" theme. I swear the tune of it is very reminiscent of something from DKC2... Just can't put my finger on what.

Then again, I'm just waiting for a Rocket Barrel remix by him.
It definitely has a touch of Mining Melancholy to it.

i mean, maybe? i do consider the diddy's kong quest ost to be wise's best work, but i also love the diddy kong racing soundtrack and enjoy his new compositions for the gba version of dixie's double trouble. (his work on the battletoads games--all of them--is nothing to scoff at, either)

but i haven't seen him on game projects much since that era. wikipedia's list of credits for him on his page starts to dwindle after 1995, and i can't help but feel there's a reason for that.

maybe his fame from the donkey kong country tunes is getting him a bit typecast. he should be known as "the guy who did practically every rareware soundtrack for the nes" (stuff like marble madness, snake rattle & roll, solar jetman, wizards and warriors, etc.)

i should give his more recent non-dkc works a listen sometime.

Glad I'm not the only one. The rocket barrel theme in DKCR was my favorite song, can't wait to hear what they do with it in this game.
I don't know about you guys, but BGM3 (confirmed for World 2-1, a Windmilly level) is amazing, and very reminiscent to Diddy Kong Racing.

EDIT: Finally made my 420th post. Only took, what, six years? Beautiful.
New trailer. It's Japanese, but that doesn't matter, it shows off a lot of cool footage.

Oh god that Rocket Barrel remix.

My body is ready.
So I was wondering, do you guys think this will really only be 6 worlds? I mean, with the addition of secret levels, I could see them reaching the same amount of levels that DKCR had, but I have a feeling that there could be 1 or 2 more nonbonus worlds. I'm thinking either the Snomad's ship or the clouds above DK Island will be a final world.

Another thing, the entirety of DKCR has you going through that one island to get to the volcano, now it's condensed to one world. How do you think they will do that? I'm expecting each level will be an iced version of a world from DKCR, so level one will be a frozen jungle, then a frozen beach, ect.
Well they said there are two secret levels in each world. I'm sure there will be a secret world too.
Oh hey, rocket barrel footage with the music. WHats odd is that there was a trailer recently that had the rocket barrel theme in it and I swear It was different than this (I'd double check this but I don't remember what video had said theme in it). So either I'm mistaken, which is highly possible, or theres multiple versions of the theme, which I'd be more than fine with.

You're not mistaken. They did that in the last game too! Go ahead and listen to the Rocketbarrel stage music from the volcano world compared to the beach one.
