But I believe the last game only had 2 variations (at least thats all I can find on youtube). What I'm wondering (and hoping for) is if they made even more for this game to fit all the different themes.

They had five, I think. A long and short version for the two different themes, and then the Rocket Barrel theme in the volcano was a switched up version of the short version of the first theme. (EDIT: Actually six - I forgot the volcano version of the second theme.)

But yes, I'm hoping for more variations here too. That'd be oh so very much the best.
The commercial has landed.

That is some Pixar-quality animation right there. Makes me wish Nintendo could do a CGI film starring their characters one day.
Feast your eyes on this, guys! Retro really outdid themselves this time!

I love how the little penguin who spotted DK Isle acted a bit like Courage the Cowardly Dog when he was telling the chief viking about the island.
You gotta love how the Snowmads can be both funny and deadly dangerous at the same time.
Well let's see how well NOA can write for Cranky.
Wow it's the real Cranky Kong!

"YOU ASKEVery Sad What’s your favorite video game and why?"

"Game & Watch—any of ‘em. Why? Because they weren’t fancy, they were fun, and you could throw them at rowdy teenagers."

Koopaul is actually working for NOA. It's happening.
Now there's the Rare magic I used to know! Looks like Nintendo has finally got it nailed down!
Glad to see that Cranky's his old self again!

Also, Tropical Freeze is out in America today. To those who've already have the game, how is it so far?

And what does the Game Over screen look like this time

The Game Over screen has DK frozen in a block of ice being guarded by two penguins with spears that will smack the ice from time to time while DK looks back and forth helplessly.

I haven't gotten a game over yet, I just saw it on a video a while back.

(if you mean that rare never really had much originality to begin with then ok i guess youre right on that note)

Wow. Just wow. Accusing Rare of all developers of not being original? Something tells me you aren't very well versed in their history prior to the Microsoft acquisition.

Anyways, I haven't played too far into the game yet, but so far my biggest impression is "Wow these swimming controls are extremely reminiscent of the doliphin sequences in Kirby Epic Yarn".
Well they certainly didn't decide to make it any easier than the first one.

Ouch level 2-4. Not only was I filled with childlike glee and wonder in that level (it's seriously amazing) but it also kinda kicked my ass a little bit. Good thing I had millions of lives (and I still haven't used the Kong Pow).
