Yeah, a collectible game does have some serious balance issues with player funds and item distribution unique to the genre (in that, not all features/elements are equally available to all players).

But in this case (a Custom Robo thing anyways), the draw is about the awesome feeling of seeing a thing you put together with your own hands doing cool things that are currently not possible with irl technologies lol

with Nintendo Figurine Platform, there's the part that many nintendo players enjoy collecting nintendo paraphernalia as it is and haven't really had too much chance to do such until somewhat recently.

as for monetization, with the NFP, since the toys are apparently going to work with multiple separate games, a standard buy-once model may still work (though it'd be nice if the individual games are at least a little less expensive).
However, I think for Infinity and Skylanders, the game should probably be F2P.

Personally I think the best sort of set up for something like this would be to make the base game(s) as cheap as possible so the entry cost is as low as possible. Also to make digital versions of figurines available for cheaper prices as well as tradeable between players (though both of these could make it hard to convince retailers on?)

oh no I textwalled again
I don't know if a F2P model would be sustainable.

Not that I'm arguing, I literally don't know what the potential profit for the toys is when compared with their manufacturing cost as well as the cost of creating (in this case multiple) solid, whole games.

I do like that Nintendo plans on making the figures compatible with multiple games, though... if the figures could last for the entirety of the console generation (at least) before launching a 2.0 version, I'd be way more down with this than I am at the moment. And I mean, for the entirety of the generation they still be making new figurines, but I really don't want a new Mario figure each year. The completionist in me will have to buy them all, and I'd rather have new characters added each year to games I already love...

bologna?

Definitely bologna. Reasons why:

1. The PS4 version of Watch Dogs is listed there, even though the game is releasing at the end of this month on all systems except Wii U. If the Wii U version is being released later, then wouldn't they list that version instead of the PS4 version?

2. Mario Kart 8 is also listed, despite the fact that it, too, is releasing at the end of this month.

3. Beyond Good and Evil 2 is being showcased for Xbox One, even though Ubisoft favors the PS4 over the XO.

4. From what I remember hearing, Gears of War 3 was meant to be the last of the series (not counting spin-offs). But then again, that's what they said about Halo 3, and look what happened.

5. What the hell is "Pokken Fighters"?

6. If a sequel to Symphony of the Night is in the works, then you'd think we would've heard about it by now.

A rumored Pokemon-based fighting game

Emphasis: rumored

Supposedly, a couple of trademarks, "Pokkén Fighters" and "Pokkén Tournament", have been set by the Pokémon Company in America and Europe. Might be related to this

We should talk about the upcoming Dota 2 International coming up.

The fans managed to raise over *four million dollars* for the final prize pool. Please note that at least three million of it was made on the first day of compendium sales. The first prize is already set to break e-sports prize earnings in history.

There's still have another month to continue contributing to the prize pool, too, and I'm damn well impressed the community got the pool that far.

Holy crap that looks awesome!
So there's an L4D arcade cabinet being released in Japan and published by Taito. Cole is replaced by a Japanese schoolgirl O_O

but what's more important in this RUN AND SHOT title is
ZOMBIE and
ZOMBIE and
ZOMBIEs

I'll be honest, if I could, I'd play Left 4 Dead using only characters from Highschool of the Dead.
Does anybody know if UK GBC and GB games will play in a US GBASP?
Google seems to think that the GBA is region free.
So there's this mobile game called "Pac-Man Monsters" right? It's nothing too special gameplay-wise. It's a puzzle RPG.

But what really caught my attention was the art and style...

Woah! This is way better than what they did with Pac-Man in the Ghostly Adventures. I want future Pac-Man games to have this style and feel to it.
