Keeping the SFX was fucking genius. This whole first episode was beautiful. If this continues amazing like this but somehow the japanese hate it and it never goes past Battle Tendency, I think I'll just hate Japan forever.

Just watched the first episode with no prior knowledge whatsoever of the series, and I really liked it. The art style was really refreshing and interesting, and the pacing was great--I wasn't bored ever.
Definitely going to continue this series, thanks!

Up to chapter 54 in Full Metal Alchemist, which is exactly halfway. It's getting pretty intense, and it finally feels like they're actually getting somewhere.

I haven't gotten around to watching Jojo yet, but I really want to. I have a question, though: now that there seems to be two people doing subs, does anyone have any opinion on which is better between gg and Nutbladder?

Also @Tellis, I didn't watch gg, but I've seen people complaining that they went way overboard with the whole "old Britain" thing, making it kinda obnoxious. I don't know how they handled the second episode. Nutbladder, on another hand, are the speedsubs, they have the fastest releases (but it has slightly worse image quality) and don't make many mistakes, as far as I know. Personally, my choice is actually none of these, but Commie, they have the slowest release, but their translation is good.
But if it's between those two, I would choose NutBladder. There's also GetBack, which was a group created just for Jojo, which people at a Jojo forum have been saying it's the best one, but their release is VERY slow, I have yet to watch it (you can only watch the same episode so many times...)
