Super Sm4sh Bros: 3DS VERSION THREAD
#31
Eh, the Dream Team battle team sounds pretty nice, I don't see what's so awful about it. Sure, it's an approach I wasn't expecting, but it still manages to sound pretty cool, and still somewhat recognizable. It kinda feels like a mix between the real world and dream world version of the song.

The Green Greens theme is pretty mediocre, yeah, the Melee one was better, but this one is still pretty nice.

Hoping for some Metroid music next. Hopefully we get this theme remixed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBR7c-uYVhg

Quote:«Customize your characters in the Custom section. It sounded better to customize 'characters' instead of 'fighters,' so that's what we went with. There are various ways to customize, but make sure you remember to set up the powers you're bringing with you before playing a round of Smash Run.»

The "No respawn invincibility" and "Improved attack in a crisis" attributes are what caught my attention in this update. What do you suppose a crisis is? Above a certain percentage? Or does your power just go up as you take damage like with Lucario?

Anyways, we know from an earlier statement that Sakurai made that they have either one or two newcomer videos left to show us. I predict one will be shown the week just before the Japanese release, most likely on Friday the 12th. If there is a second one, sometime in the next four days would be a good time for them to show it off since they are showing off the game at a PAX event.

I guess the real question is if they will be showing off any newcomer videos between the time of the Japanese release and the international releases. Sakurai's team has to know that everyone is going to learn the roster once the game hits Japanese shelves; are they just going to pretend nobody knows anything for the sake of showmanship?

Thank you. I personally loved the remix of it and I think you are the first person I've seen on a number of sites to not say it's awful.

For the Dream Team battle, I guess I was just frustrated that it sounded different from the original. It's kinda growing on me now.

For the customization, I wonder how far I can put my attack, defense, and speed into the negatives(I see a -50 for the attack there). Maybe there is some awful equipment that I can equip? For some strange reason, I enjoy the challenge of a negative handicap.

At first, I thought it was going to be another fake tweet like the one from "NintendoAmerico", but nope, it's real. Smile

The downside is that it's a Japanese only Direct, which means it's most likely nothing to get too excited about.

A couple of Pikachu's custom moves have been revealed via magazine translation:

One is a version of Thunder that has more focus on the origination point of the lightning rather than where it lands.

The other sounds a lot like Kirby's classic Spark ability.

I love how they list all of them as being from the Pokemon series, even though the header already mentions that all of them are Pokemon, thus it's unnecessary.

It says that Force Palm is Lucario's neutral special ... that's not right is it? I mean I never play as Lucario, but I could have sworn the aura sphere was his neutral.

The animation proceeding the gameplay for this one seems ... not as impressive as previous intro videos. It looks a lot like it might have been done using the in-game graphics. I hope they didn't have to make this one in a rush on account of him being one of the leaked characters ...

[EDIT] Special CD offer for anyone who buys both versions of the game: http://club2.nintendo.com/smash-promo/

Personally I'd prefer to just have a digital download version of the soundtracks. I never use CDs or even own a CD player aside from my computer.

It also says "More Details on the Way" so maybe there's going to be even more prizes as part of this promotion?

Japanese video detailing 3DS version a bit more. A lot is already confirmed, but there is some new info, albeit untranslated:

Some cool stuff in there, like all of Kirby's custom moves, some sweet Mii costumes, a bunch of final destination versions of stages, and a part where a bunch of random enemies drop in on a final destination version of a stage (not sure if it is part of smash run).

Hmm ... can't make out what the difference between the Final Cutter customs are. Stone looks like it has a bigger stone and hammer has a bigger hammer but I don't see much difference in the other ones. I hope someone translates the text soon.

Speaking of Final Destination stages ... do you think Past Stages are going to have FD versions as well? The Great Fox as a Final Destination stage is going to be bizarre ...

I actually thought I saw it in there. I don't have time to have a second look though.
