The sprite could use more contrast, specifically in the hair and face shading.

I only checked this ref, but Darren says jabs are supposed to be light, quick, and loose such that the jab is more of a "flick". Thus, there should be little momentum change in the character meaning that the whole body shouldn't be moving much.

Given that ref, the animation is still off. He doesn't return to his origin. He moves and remains forward with the punch.

He also isn't completely sideways before the punch. He is hunched over a bit, head down, with his chest facing the opponent. With the jab, he rotates a bit. His closer fist should be defending his face at all times too.

Hmm...looking pretty good, though the palette could be improved quite a bit.

There! I toned down the contrast a bit so that your colors blend a little better. Now that I think about it, a lot of your sprites have a little bit too much contrast, which lends them a muddied look. Have you tried calibrating your monitor?

Oh, and what character is this might I ask? ^^

My monitor settings are fine, I just tend to use more contrast with my colors, I myself don't see it as a problem but if a few others are bothered by it i'll try and stop it.
