TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12)
#61
Bringing an animated gif to the table once I'm happy with my design. Also, this was one of those times I did a background awhile back, and I found it generic looking I find nowadays.

I guess it was trying to convey depth while showing how flat the surface is or something.

Anyway, like this?

The style is there but the colours are too dark. You need to make them very pale for it to fit in.
... though I think I did read something about palette rules... doh

Yeah, I thought so too. Hm.

Is this better? Not sure I can do anything about the silver though.

Nice sprite. I did something in a similar vein a while back, but it was Classic:

I don't think mine's as in style as yours though.

I just fixed the pallet issues so that X can fit in style.

i don't know

what am i even doing

you should actually stick to the reds(pinks) used in the game, and give byson somewhat of a pose, so he wouldn't look like a generic action figure.

dibs on actually good looking Genesis sprites

(ALSO FUCK why hasn't anyone ripped Strider?! OR MUSHA?!)

I want to, but I don't think I'm allowed. Unless I can use palettes from the style I'm trying to put it into? I'd probably just take the palette from this then.

Yeah, I think I'll basically redo it. I was basing it off of the sprites you guys ripped from the game, but I just realized you guys actually have some sprites for the sequel that aren't idle.

Hmm that sprite you are basing it off of isn't from a Snes or Genesis game. But I'm assuming your using the same sprite as MegaMario

That's would I like to know, as the choices on TSR for the genesis feels quite limited to the ones for the SNES as of yet..

Umihara Kawase from the game Umihara Kawase.

I'm not done with it, I think. I can see that there are several places where the shading
and AA are wonky or broken. To be honest, this is one of the first sprites I've ever
made that doesn't have a solid black outline.

AA is tough stuff ;/

Alright, unless someone sees any giant glaring flaws, I'm calling
Umihara Kawase complete.
