That's would I like to know, as the choices on TSR for the genesis feels quite limited to the ones for the SNES as of yet..

Strider looks nicer in the Arcade so I'm guessing people would prefer those sprites and thus the Mega Drive version gets no sprite love.
MUSHA is a shmup and they're basically no fun at all to rip. However if isn't done by the time I finish the majority of DarkStalkers (I'm like 2 characters and bit of misc crap off) I'll do it as Gens K-Mod is pretty much the ultimate spriting emulator (minus Kawaks).

It's good but you've gave her the wrong hair style. The hair on her right also looks too long, and oddly flicked up.
If you look the original sprite her hair stays behind her ear. I'd look at some art to help.

Yeah, Goemar, I took liberties with the hairstyle simply because nearly all of the artwork
I could find for reference (that wasn't the sprites themselves) tended to be of the later
character designs from the psx and ds games. Not only that, but the sprites themselves
don't even share the same hairstyle with the official game art on the back of the original
box. Nevertheless, I've made slight changes to her ear and hair.

The question is, the way how Gon's legs are set up I was wondering how Gon should be able to move (I'd like to see how the kneejoints are constructed here), but then again I've seen more crazier mech designs that makes it look incapable for walking (valsion).

Looking back on another idea that I thought of earlier for this compo it was the selection of using this trio of rejects that never made it into the 1991 game Sonic the Hedgehog while coming up with an idea that can rival the plumber to make an entirely new character out of these three. This also gives me an idea to merge my current entry with this plan (as the SNES side of the goal I find was fufilled) to see I can make something out of it too.

This is what I got, the far right combines the designs of both mine, the three rejected designs for Sonic (somewhat, I just need the kneeguards then I'm done), and the origional design for Raita of BS Kaizou Tyoujin Shubibinman Zero. The next phase is giving him special moves and such for animating, and throwing in a bad guy for the punching bag for those animations.

Battle pose is a bit stiff, and I'm not sure if the shading on the legs is supposed to be in opposite directions, but other than that it looks cool.

megamans palette isn't deep enough that you can benefit from using only the darker shades on his leg in the background. as an aside, the original sprite and made for a flat plane, showing it's depth through coloration and not perspective. the frame from the front few is decidedly off model for the rest of the sprite, and the gem in his forehead doesn't pop like it does on the original sprite

her face is really low detail and looks kind of strange compared to the rest of the sprite, so you may want to work on that. also i'd take another hard look at your anatomy and try and see what's wrong there, and generally work on the composition bits, like how the skirt looks flat compared to the rest of the sprite.
