Is that true? At any rate, EXE sucks. Classic all the way.
Technically, Megaman.exe had his first appeareance in a video game (in 2001), then in the anime (2002), when wikipedia is correct.
However, the original MegaMan deserves being sprited a lot more than X or MM.exe. That doesn't mean that you cannot try one of those in the SBP style. It's just very unlikely for him to appear in the game, though. EDIT: Yeah, just like Tonberry said, original is the way to go.

Just some ideas for Megamans moveset:
- Perhaps MegaMan could do any other actions than attacks (running, jumping) while charging his MegaBuster, jst like in the games. (if you didn't have that in mind already)
- If Rush walking in the background had no use in combat, it would be more or less some (relatively unnecesary) spriting work. Instead I would just let Rush appear for the Final Smash or perhaps the Up Special (Rush Jet)?
- I always imagined Top Spin as a neutral air, like Olimar's in Brawl, but I think it doesn't really matter whether it will be a D-Air or N-Air c:
Ah my bad off by a year either way EXE does suck I wouldn't see him a smash bros. game we only see classic megaman in any video game that doesn't involve him we got Marvel vs Capcom and X nor EXE is in.
I say classic would be a good fit since megaman 9 was on its way out by that point...
Could we do zero?

Classic Megaman did, but EXE. didn't he was in NT Warrior before the games came out

Actually, it was a game.

I love EXE, but he doesn't deseve to get in over classic.

The only Mega Man rep getting in the game, is Classic Mega Man.
Classic Megaman and Zero are the two top candidates for Megaman characters in ANY situation, EVER... also in that order. Big Grin
The reason I like Zero so much is because his was the only Megaman series that had the nuts to actually end. (EXE ended after, I think). Albeit, both those series kinda lived on in spirit through ZX and Starforce, but... the endings to both MMZ3 and 4 are just so climactic. Very Sad

Also the X series was actually going to be about Zero before they chickened out... ;~;

... I do have an old Zero movelist for Smash lying around. I've got dorky lists of video game ideas that can't ever possibly come to fruition in mainstream media. :<

1. If we can implement that, sure.
2. We could do that. I thought about Rush jet as a recovery, but figured Beat would be easier to pull off. I just didn't want Rush to be shafted completely. Maybe we could help Megs attack or something?
3. I'm not picky about the attack placement. I just said D-Air because of Mario's.

I don't really know what you're trying to say in the last sentence, sorry ;x
The Rush jet I had in mind would be a mix of Pit's wings (you can controll it freely) and Wario's bike (you can jump of Rush and he disappears). Maybe MM could shoot with the Megabuster as long as he stands on Rush (if that is possible to be coded.)

I haven't thought of Mario's tornado at all. Yeah, until now, it doesn't matter. Let's just wait if we find a good idea for either N-Air or D-Air, Top Spin will get the other spot then.

I really got interested in starting Megaman because of that discussion, so I gave a shot at him, sprite-wise. I know Rags made a version of him already, but there were a few things I didn't like. And Rags is (as far as I know) not working on him currently. I hope it is o.k.

That "we" should be a "he." Maybe that sentence wil make sense now. Tongue
I like the proportions on old Megaman more.
Old megaman's stance, new megaman's proportions.
imo the old one is completely superior in every way, but the colours still look p. bad. anyway, I came up with a basic moveset for him a while ago
B- Charge shot (you can move while charging but you have to hold it down so you cant attack)
Side B- Power Slide
Up B- Shoryuken (it happened)
Down B- Weapon Steal

Up B: It's true it did happen in Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2
and megaman: the power fighters.
@Tuna
I actually like that idea for a shoryuken, because it would be a less than subtle tribute to Street Fighter, giving Megaman even more Capcom love. xD
