I made the outline less thick. But I'm stuck coming up with a better idle pose. I'm thinking of something that has him look ready for action, but not in battle. I don't really know how to describe it. I'll toy around with it a little.

Ooh, I like this new style. It's a step up from the one before.

I tried working on the running animation, but the arms turned out HORRIBLE. I need help.

His face seems to stretch when jumping upwards.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm redoing the jump sprite. :p It's gonna be less Mario-ish.

But the new run looks very Mario-ish. :/

LESS Mario-ish. It's more gonna look like the double jump pose.


I think this looks SO much better. I'll try to get a GIF after.

I tried a new style, with a lighter outline at certain points. I feel a little indifferent between the two though.

I personally like the one from the previous post ; the darkness for the lines is more consistent with that. With this, the head and pants seem to be about the same darkness but the lighter shirt outline doesn't make it look nice.

Did I explain that well?

as for the run animation, it looks quite poor but it's indeed difficult. Will try giving you some insight when I'm home

So a little sprite project; making all the Sonic Colours Wisps. I started off with the yellow/drill wisp.

The yellow is really desaturated to the point that it hardly even looks yellow any more.

I had no idea which yellow you were talking about, so saturated all of them a little.

I tried a Red Wisp, but it looks a little cluttered due to the eyes
