I remember they said they wanted the starters to be based on Japan, China, and France. Samurott represents Japan and is supposed to be based on the samurai. That's all I remember reading.

Anyway this has gone off topic. I just want to make a Pokedex that makes us all happy.

Got a question. I know we aren't allowed to make evolved pokemon of previous generations...but what about Mega Evolutions?

That might be fun for a separate project. Here I wanted to see some completely original Pokemon.

So are there anymore suggestions for Grass starters? So far we only have the Kiwi.

I made a suggestion a page or so back. I suggested something based on a puff mushroom, possibly an armadillo. It could curl up unto a ball that resembles a puff mushroom a bit more and attack with a spore explosion.

Oh another idea I had for a 2 stage evolution. First stage is a little scarab beetle and is bug/ground, kind of on the cute side. Second stage is a more humanoid beetle (think scyther), with mummy like bandages over it. Maybe it could have a Mega (or just a 2nd evo) in which it because a bug/ghost (or ground/ghost?) based on the classic "Mummies curse" concept.

I was in my biology class the other day, and an idea for a grass pokemon.

How about a pea plant, based on the idea of Gregor Mendel? I was thinking it could be a standalone pokemon (no evolutions), with various forms based on the seven different traits:



The main forms in the wild would start as homozygous of either trait, and then through breeding, you could get the various combinations of the seven traits.

Also, for a grass/dragon pokemon, maybe a snapdragon?

Oh, for the pea pokemon, it's body should resemble a pea pod with 3 little pea heads inside.

Not sure how to list that Gregor Mendel one. I did list a Pea Pod.

Are the ideas I posted (post just before the pea pokemon) alright?

Btw, just a minor correct, (probably doesn't matter in the end), but the puffshroom thing was a suggestion for the grass starter, since I figured it would be an interesting take on things. Also, the bug thing is Bug/Ground. The Bug/Ghost one was just some idea for it's final evolution based on the whole "mummies curse" cliche.


Oh, and for an actual new idea, since each region has this, for the regional rodent, can we base it off of an opossum? I could see it's first form being pure normal type, and it evolves into a normal/dark type since dark type attacks tend to be more tricky, underhanded moves, which fits an opossum since they play dead.

Also, another staple to any gen, the electric rodent. How about basing it off of the Long-eared jerboa? I mean seriously, looks at this guy, I could see some neat stuff based on him.

Wasn't that what Pikachu was based off of?

Idk, I thought he was just based on a mouse or something. Either way I'm saying we make this design a bit closer to the actual jerboa, like with longer legs and what not. I could see some interesting ideas coming from something like this.

Just had an idea. A psychic type pokemon based off of a jester with a 2 color mask like face (like Dimentio). It's whole gimmick is the concept of opposites. It could have the ability Form Change (it's mask could change), or maybe an ability that makes physical attacks to special damage, and special attacks to normal damage.

Either way to sum it up, it's a psychic type jester pokemon based on opposites.


Another idea, something with juggling? Idk what kind of pokemon it could be, a clown or something maybe, idk.
