I think he's saying they ported Luigi's Mansion as research for LM2 development, and that he'd like it to be released from Nintendo's vaults as an actual game.
I'd like to see the updated 2D remake that Final Fantasy 3 was originally going to get, instead of that choppy looking DS version.

It was supposed to be in the remake set on the WonderSwan Color that Final Fantasy 1, 2 and 4 received. But they claimed to have technical difficulties. They didn't even try to put it on the GBA when the same WonderSwan ports got updated slightly with more content and ported over. OF course, now that we have the High Resolution remakes on the PSP, I'd like to see FF3 done THAT way, instead of the horrid blocky 3D the DS version has.
(didn't check all the posts yet, as...it's 10 pages and I just stumbled upon it, but I don't think anyone suggested what I'm going to, already, if so, well, more people wanting the same thing is good, right?)

Final Fantasy 1.
You might be thinking..."WHY!? It's already been remade like 4 times!"
But, I mean an actual, complete remake, just for the heck of it. Not upgraded ports with extras, no.

Take the newest FF graphic engine (but not battle engine) and use that as the base. So, make FF1 with graphics at the level of the FFXIII trilogy, or FFXIV, or FFXV, or whatever. Keep the original battle system, or use ATB or CTB (FFX system). But make the battles much more interesting, because every non-boss enemy in the game besides like, a small handful only being able to attack normal is pretty boring. I just think it would be a funny full-circle game. The original game in the series remade with the newest game's engines.

Also, the same with Legend of Zelda. Imagine the original Legend of Zelda with a modern 3D Zelda gameplay and graphics (and music of course)? I think it could be really interesting.

Actually, that's the only thing that makes remakes worth while. If it's just the same exact game with better graphics only, it's a waste of money, unless you don't own any version of the game. Even so, I think the WonderSwan Color or PS1 versions of the game have done it justice. Although they didn't add any extra content (SHAME ON THEM!), they stayed true to the original while buffing up the engine and graphics (and music and sounds).

It'd suck that way, losing it's original charm =(. Modern Gameplay? Say goodbye to the open world exploration and somewhat of a challenge, while saying hello to linear progression and ridiculously easy gameplay.

I'd love to see an updated High Resolution 2D, Free Movement remake of Zelda 1, because the gridsnapping was bullshit. No realtime action game should ever have gridsnapping. Stiff and clunky movement in those sort of games makes it more ridiculous than it has to be (not that I've had any problems with Zelda 1, but it still felt way more stiff than it needed to be).

Oh, no, I know what you mean. I meant, not JUST a port with extras. But a full-fledged remake, which, would definitely have extras. While talking about FF1, I have the GBA version, and I love it. The bonus dungeons provide an interesting feature for a game like that (even though, doing them makes you gain lots of levels, and get powerful equipment, more powerful than you need...)

Well, the original game wouldn't lose any charm, because...it still exists, and is playable in multiple ways. But...I don't feel like modern Zelda gameplay is really restrictive. Well, my newest Zelda is Wind Waker, so...Still, I was thinking like Ocarina of Time, it still gives you a good amount of freedom and choice in the order of dungeons. I still think a 3D remake of the original game, would have more freedom than Ocarina of Time. That's how I envision it anyway.

-Tons of freedom in how you progress, in dungeons, items, whatever.
-Refined combat (the 3D Zelda games have awesome combat)
-Advanced item control (I mean, equip multiple items at once, like in 3D Zeldas)
-Epic boss fights (you know what I mean)
-Very little, if any, story added

And so on. My whole point with the idea is take the awesome parts of the 3D Zeldas and mix it with the freedom and exploration of the original game.

I'd love to see a new take on Impossible Mission, it has a very distinctive vibe and might even work well in 3D.
