Regarding Participation Badges
#31
Which is why I suggested the accumulative awards, since multiple awards always link to the same page, 1 numbered award would be easier to display than like 10 of them.
Doofenshmirtz: This is a little bit awkward but have you seen my escape jet keys? (Perry nods) What, you have? Well that's great! So where are they? (Perry looks away) You won't tell me? Is this because you don't speak or are you just being a jerk?

Yeah, but impossible to do.

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

This is the idea I had:

I know, it doesn't solve the solution but it nicely packs it up for awhile.
Got one. Smile

concept: person gets a participation badge they get a [1 participation badge award]
person gets a second participation badge, mod deletes that and they get a [2 participation badge award]
and so on and so forth, but then it gets to [5+ participation badge award]
a bit of work on the mods behalf, but ????

Participation badges could just be done away with altogether, they're pretty pointless considering all you have to do to get them is well, participate, and if that's the case participating in a competition can just be its own reward. It's not like the badges tell you which competition they took part in, either, so basically the only thing we get by seeing them is "Oh, that person entered a competition once. Okay." If it really matters, you can make a competition records thread, pin it, and simply update it after every comp. with the entrants and winners. (and maybe their entries)

Oh, but they do! Tongue
Look at my awards page for example.

Nontheless, removing the participation badges would be perfectly fine with me.

Now if we had top 5 badges, then we'd be in good shape, along with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

I don't think that would change much, people would still be getting too many badges at some point. Besides, we don't need to copy MFGG's lame system.

If there was a way to just make someone's awards show on their user page and just that, it would make things a whole lot simpler.

Make the awards link to the piece or the challenge thread.

Oh for the love of god.

Dazz, just take out the participation badges.
And if you can, I think we should use Dev's badges, they're lovely.

Just do what MFGG does. If you win more than one of the same Badge, replace it with the same badge, but in the corner or whatever it has a +2, +3, etc. That way, you don't have more than one of the same badge taking up space. You can have a special badge for people who win more than 5 or whatever.

I dunno.

How about we just hand all of them to me? I'm clearly the greatest member of this forum, and no amount of evidence can prove otherwise.
