Mewtwo, no tripping, Character-specific Break the Targets (everyone has their own instead of 5 different ones for 35 charcters), Board the Platforms (why did they get rid of this?), if not Board the Platforms then atleast bring back Race to the Finish, more UNIQUE characters/make some characters current movesets more different (give Toon Link and Lucas their own B moves, no sharing Final Smashes (Landmaster, Triforce Slash, Light Arrow, PK Starstorm)

1) More variety in the gameplay to lessen repetitiveness. I don't want to have to play Classic mode about forty times for all the Classic trophies. >.<;;
2) If the next game brings back Adventure Mode, actually use Nintendo standard baddies and bosses in the story/plot. Don't use original baddies like Primids and bosses like Duon.
3) Eliminate tripping.
4) Have online that actually works as advertised.
5) Have a more robust Stage Builder.

I think a lot of people here can agree with this, they never needed any sort of original enemy to be put in Smash bros unless it's master/crazy hand.
I should have mentioned to bring back Melee adventure mode, I'm going to be honest Brawl's subspace emissary was only good for about, oh maybe a day or two only to find out it's really a piece of shit

7 things, right here.
1. Trophies for us nostalgia fans. Seriously, EVERY trophy in that game from from those new games. Take the Zelda series, Pokemon, and "Other" series for example.
2. Good characters. Over half of the characters are Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon.
3. They could've done much better with stages like Smashville, Luigi's Mansion, and those other "Stand on a flat platform and watch the scenery in the background". And they picked the worst Melee stages. Where's Subcon? Fourside? Great Bay?
4. F.L.U.D.D. and Water Gun. What do they even do?
4. Final Smashes. Link, Toon Link, and Marth share almost the exact same one, Landmaster, and Jigglypuff.
5. Items. There are only 4 kinds. Healing, Crates, Projectiles, and Springboard.
6. Assist Trophy roster. Stafy's Japan-only, Barbara... yeah. Nobody knows who Mr. Wright is anymore, 8-bit Assist Trophies are just lazy, and, finally, Tingle. Enough said.
7. Stage builder is overly restrictive, and you can only use 3 Subspace backgrounds. (Olimar's Stage, Battle with Charizard, Battle with Ridley)
Wow. That was really rant-like.

Slim Blue Wario should've been in the roster. And Wiggler. and Doctor Mario, Young Link, and Pichu should all get in before Roy.
Also, Rhythm Heaven Stage.
Also, Little Mac playable character. And Saki from Sin & Punishment.
And like, people really hate brawl online, but I'm still getting online with people and brawling and shit. I don't go into Basic Brawl because that shit sucks.
but Custom Matches with a group of people were cool. I mean, except when one of your friends play Jigglypuff and they spam Rollout.
Roy sucks.
Um, I like the Primids. Add them for Multiman Mode. They're expendable and stuff. But only Primids. Maybe Tabuu. I kinda like Tabuu.
I dunno, I don't want Smash Bros to become Marvel vs Capcom 2 broken. Where most people play as Storm/Sentenial/Magneto and the rest of the cast are ignored. You could probably say that already happened in Brawl. Probably not.
Stages. Why isn't Mario & Pit vs Link & Yoshi a stage you can brawl on? Same with Meta vs Lucario. And Snake vs Princesses. They were cool stages that could be ported to the stage roster easily.
Or not.
I dunno.
Man, I wish Coin Battles could be played with Stock.
Has anyone played a coin battle? Sure it's kinda stupid, but what isn't in brawl? I usually turn items off and roll with Coin Battles. It's crazy awesome.

Well what else? I've always been curious to what Brawl has done to merit so much bashing. Besides the tripping obviously. I mean Brawl's not perfect, of course it isn't. But its still a good game.
-Either way, I would suggest that they do something better with the Chronicles. I was thinking they provide screenshots or boxart of the game.
-Next I would just scrap the Golden Hammer, its just a more powerful version of an item we already have. Its not really needed to have clone items too!

And there's all these reasons in this thread saying how brawl was not great compared to melee that's right front of you on your computer monitor saying what can be improved on the next one, I think those would be perfect answers to explain your question.
I'm not trying to be an ass towards you koopaul, but I can't see why you're not getting the message yet.

Please a much more customizable Stage Builder. Too much restrictions goddamn.
Bring back Board the Platforms, but still having Break the Targets. One being oriented by level-dificulty and another one being character-specific.
Bring back Race to the Finish in a new, original way.
Tripping is shit and pointless.
Some Assist Trophies work like Pokeballs. I don't agree with this, I think that ATs should be some sort of CPU character with very limited movements and attacks in which they follow you/an enemy and supports you/fuck with them. Ray MK-III and Grey Fox did this well. While Pokémons, they just cast a powerful attack and dissapear, like they always do.
Example of two ATs that I think would be nice: Protoman, would follow you and shield you from enemy attacks, as long as he's not in midair, that he draws his shield back. He also shoots his cannon if you're standing still for a bit. Tails, would follow you and mimmick your directional movements. Deals damage to enemies when he spin-jumps, and can fly and carry you if you are blown out of the stage, as long as you're not heavily blown.
Subspace Emissary is shit.
Give us something like the Weapon Master mode of Soul Calibur, in which you can choose a stage and play some missions. Be it something new like a platformer stage, just like in Melee's Adventure Mode, an Event Match mission, or a boss battle, that after beating them, they would become Assist Trophies, the only few Assist Trophies that doesn't work like ATs, but Pokemons, doing a very strong attack and leaving.
New Final Smashes, for nearly everybody. For formula renewal purposes.
I like the floaty-like gameplay of Brawl, makes it look more like SSB64. Maybe putting a Turbo button just like in SSF2T, shifting the floaty properties of the characters to a heavier, and much more agile one, making battles more like Melee's.
Stage events and items would also be slightly faster as well.
A game much more like SSB64, I like the ambientation of the game.

Because it was going to obvious Sakurai was going to put him in as a new series to represent
which reminds me that the DS and Animal Crossing series should have had a rep in smash
Roy.
Falco should have an Arwing.
Wolf should have a Wolfen.
Make Fox's Landmaster better.
Give Toon Link a new move set. It really isn't that hard.
Give Wolf better B specials. Forward B is pretty shit and usually screws you up unless you use it perfectly. And Up B's recovery is shit.

Well like I said before, Brawl is not perfect, but neither was Melee.
But they were both still good games. What I don't understand is why the bashers think Brawl is a "bad game"
Even with all these trivial complaints, the game was still very good. But no one can admit that. Its like everyone was expecting it to be perfect, and because it wasn't, they hate it.
Well the game had many wonderful new characters, stages and more. Even with all its flaws I was pretty happy.
Why isn't anyone else? I mean there's nothing wrong in trying to fix those flaws, or improve upon things, but some of you act like the game was pure shit. Which I cannot understand.
So the question is not why do you think Melee is better than Brawl, the question is why do you think Brawl was pure shit?
